This is a part-time on-site role in Pittsburgh, PA and will grow into a full-time position. The Bookkeeper is a hands-on accounting professional responsible for overseeing the company&rsquo;s day-to-day financial operations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls. Reporting to our Controller, this role requires the technical expertise of a degreed accountant, with the ability to translate financial data into clear insights that support leadership decision-making and company growth. In return, you'll gain fulfilment that you impacted the World, invaluable experience, growth opportunities, and rewards that match your dedication.---Key ResponsibilitiesCore Accounting &amp; Bookkeeping<ul><li>Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and monthly bank reconciliations.</li><li>Prepare, maintain, and reconcile the General Ledger in accordance with GAAP and accrual accounting standards.</li><li>Ensure accurate verification, coding, posting, and timely payment of all vendor invoices, capturing available discounts where applicable.</li><li>Oversee the collection, posting, and reconciliation of all accounts receivable.</li><li>Record and reconcile cash receipts; verify bank deposits and monthly bank statements.</li><li>Process payroll accurately and on time, including payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, and year-end reporting (W-2s, 1099s).</li></ul>Financial Reporting &amp; Analysis<ul><li>Prepare monthly internal financial statements on both an accrual and cash basis by the 10th of each month.</li><li>Provide written financial analysis highlighting trends, key ratios, budget variances, and recommended corrective actions.</li><li>Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, projections, and ad hoc financial analyses as requested by leadership.</li><li>Support audit readiness and maintain well-organized financial records and documentation.</li></ul>Compliance &amp; Controls<ul><li>Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial, tax, and regulatory reporting requirements.</li><li>Maintain and improve internal accounting controls, policies, and procedures.</li><li>Ensure accounting practices align with GAAP and industry best practices.</li></ul>Cross-Functional &amp; Leadership Support<ul><li>Partner with company leadership and the Controller to ensure accurate, timely client invoicing in accordance with contracts and deliverables.</li><li>Provide financial insight and operational support to leadership to enable strategic growth.</li><li>Serve as a trusted internal resource on accounting standards, reporting, inventory and financial best practices.</li></ul>---Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting or a related field.</li><li>5&ndash;10+ years of progressive experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in a small to mid-sized organization.</li><li>Strong command of GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial reporting.</li><li>Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop (Enterprise) and Microsoft Excel.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements.</li><li>Extensive experience managing payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.</li><li>Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.</li><li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.</li></ul>---Why Join Terravive?
