Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated Parent Peer Support Case Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing assistance and guidance to individuals in need. This is a KPERS covered position.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Assist families in understanding effective parenting skills in relation to child's mental illness and treatment, developing a safe and supportive environment in the home, understanding problem solving skills, coping mechanisms and strategies for behavior management.</li><li>Assist treatment team in facilitating team meetings as needed</li><li>Provide support to parents with emotionally disturbed children when the need exists individually or in group setting</li><li>Assist families during crisis situations alongside Tx team members and within scope of practice</li><li>Assist families in identifying, understanding and accessing services and resources</li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date paperwork and documentation</li><li>Assist families with understanding services, availability, choices and description of services that impact the child with a mental illness while living in the community.</li><li>Monitor client's progress towards treatment plan goals through the facilitation of psychosocial groups, collateral contacts with schools, parents, designated team members and through wraparound meetings</li><li>Attend professional development opportunities and complete required trainings to advance skills</li><li>Attend required meetings</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Clean KBI, DCF Adult &amp; Child Abuse Checks</li><li>Valid KS Driver's License with favorable driving record</li><li>Lived experience as a parent/caregiver of a child with SED, SUD or co-occurring mental health diagnosis</li><li>Bachelor's Degree or 4 years of equivalent education and/or experience working in the human services field with most experience being with children</li></ul>This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals in need.
