The Foundery Group is seeking an experienced, highly detail-oriented Remote Medical Scribe to support a board-certified plastic surgeon within a busy cosmetic and reconstructive surgery practice.This role requires real-time documentation during patient encounters via secure audio connection. The Remote Scribe plays a critical role in ensuring precise, compliant, and same-day chart completion while enhancing provider efficiency and patient experience.This is not an entry-level scribe position. Prior surgical or specialty experience is strongly preferred.Primary ResponsibilitiesReal-Time Clinical Documentation<ul><li>Scribe live patient encounters via secure remote connection</li><li>Accurately document in Modernizing Medicine (ModMed) EMR:</li><li>History of Present Illness (HPI)</li><li>Review of Systems (ROS)</li><li>Physical Exam findings</li><li>Assessment &amp; Plan</li><li>Procedure documentation</li><li>Pre-operative and post-operative notes</li><li>Draft cosmetic consultation notes with detail and accuracy</li><li>Prepare operative notes for surgeon review</li><li>Ensure all charts are completed same-day</li></ul>Surgical &amp; Cosmetic Workflow Support<ul><li>Document in-office procedures (excision, injectables, lasers, minor surgical cases)</li><li>Assist with preparation of:</li><li>Pre-op documentation</li><li>Post-op instructions</li><li>Surgical summaries</li><li>Support photo documentation workflows</li><li>Ensure documentation supports accurate coding and billing</li></ul>Chart Preparation &amp; Efficiency<ul><li>Pre-chart scheduled patients prior to clinic start</li><li>Review daily schedules to anticipate documentation needs</li><li>Maintain updated templates and documentation standards</li><li>Ensure zero documentation backlog</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Minimum 1&ndash;2 years medical scribe experience</li><li>Plastic surgery, dermatology, or surgical specialty experience strongly preferred</li><li>Strong knowledge of medical terminology</li><li>Experience with EMR systems (ModMed preferred)</li><li>Typing speed of 60+ WPM with high accuracy</li><li>Excellent grammar and written communication skills</li><li>HIPAA-compliant home office setup</li><li>Reliable high-speed internet and quiet, private workspace</li></ul>Core Competencies<ul><li>Extreme attention to detail</li><li>Anticipatory thinking</li><li>Professional discretion</li><li>Strong listening skills</li><li>Comfort with cosmetic and aesthetic terminology</li><li>Ability to maintain pace in high-volume clinic settings</li><li>Self-directed and accountable</li></ul>Performance Expectations<ul><li>100% same-day chart completion</li><li>Zero tolerance for incomplete documentation</li><li>Maintain compliant, medically necessary documentation</li><li>Improve provider efficiency and clinic flow</li><li>Maintain consistent availability during scheduled clinic hours (Eastern Time)</li></ul>Technology Requirements<ul><li>HIPAA-compliant private workspace</li><li>High-speed internet connection</li><li>Noise-canceling headset</li><li>Secure EMR access capability</li><li>Ability to use Zoom or secure telehealth platforms as needed</li></ul>About The Foundery GroupThe Foundery Group provides high-level operational and clinical support services to medical practices focused on excellence, growth, and efficiency.
