This is a part time, remote contract position - 20 to 25 hours per week. We offer a flexible work arrangement and our firm is very focused on work-life balance. Ideal for a solo looking to fill capacity, a talented litigator looking to develop their employment law skills, or a self-starter looking to develop business without the risk of starting their own firm.Pay:&middot; $125/hour for Billable Work, Contingency Share, Origination BonusesLicense/Certification:&middot; Virginia and DC required, Maryland a plus.<ul><li>Negotiate settlements; gather background information; draft demand letters.</li><li>Counsel and correspond with clients, opposing counsel and others on factual matters.</li><li>Represent clients in mediations.</li><li>Represent clients in court proceedings and administrative hearings as necessary.</li><li>Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to develop case strategies and ensure effective communication.</li><li>Play a crucial role in providing high-quality legal services to our clients while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.</li><li>Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.</li><li>Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents with precision.</li><li>Take depositions.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of all legal documents and correspondence.</li><li>Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact clients or cases.</li></ul><ul><li>3+ years litigation experience, employment law preferred.</li><li>Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.</li><li>Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s).</li><li>Familiarity with employment law.</li><li>Experience with pre-complaint investigations and pre-complaint settlement negotiations.</li><li>Strong research skills with the ability to analyze complex legal issues.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective negotiation and litigation.</li><li>Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.</li><li>High level of professionalism and ethical standards in all interactions.</li></ul>If you are passionate about practicing law and making a difference for clients through your expertise, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity as a Contract Attorney.Job Types: Part-time, ContractSchedule: FlexibleWork Location: RemoteJob Type: Part-timePay: $125.00 per hourExpected hours: 20 &ndash; 25 per weekWork Location: Remote
