We offer employers advice and defense in all the increasingly complex areas of labor and employment law. We also provide compliance and consulting services to minimize exposure risk in the workplace.

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Contract Attorney to join our legal team. This is a part time, remote contract position - 20 to 25 hours per week. We offer a flexible work arrangement and our firm is very focused on work-life balance. Ideal for a solo looking to fill capacity, a talented litigator looking to develop their employment law skills, or a self-starter looking to develop business without the risk of starting their own firm.

Pay:

· $125/hour for Billable Work, Contingency Share, Origination Bonuses

License/Certification:

· Virginia and DC required, Maryland a plus.

  • Negotiate settlements; gather background information; draft demand letters.
  • Counsel and correspond with clients, opposing counsel and others on factual matters.
  • Represent clients in mediations.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and administrative hearings as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to develop case strategies and ensure effective communication.
  • Play a crucial role in providing high-quality legal services to our clients while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents with precision.
  • Take depositions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all legal documents and correspondence.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact clients or cases.
  • 3+ years litigation experience, employment law preferred.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s).
  • Familiarity with employment law.
  • Experience with pre-complaint investigations and pre-complaint settlement negotiations.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to analyze complex legal issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective negotiation and litigation.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards in all interactions.
