We aim to build long-term partnerships and support the financial success of every client we serve.Where and How You&rsquo;d Work:Build Bookkeeping is a virtual business based in La Crosse, WI, serving clients nationwide. This mostly remote role allows you to work from home during set hours, with occasional in-person connections. Unlike traditional accounting firms with rigid 9&ndash;5 schedules and cubicles, here, you&rsquo;ll have the freedom to work from home and structure your day around a consistent schedule that still allows space for real life. You&rsquo;ll work directly with the business owners, not through layers of management, which means you&rsquo;ll see the tangible impact of your work each month.Details &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>Pay: Approximately $20-$22 hour, depending on experience.</li><li>Hours: ~15-20 hours per week</li><li>Preferred Qualifications:</li><li>Previous experience handling accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, payroll entries, or general accounting tasks.</li><li>Experience with QuickBooks Online</li><li>Experience with real estate&ndash;related transactions and tracking, including rental income, property expenses, and asset addition/disposal.</li></ul>What You&rsquo;d Do in This Role:<ul><li>Handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including entering transactions, reconciling accounts, and categorizing receipts.</li><li>Prepare and review monthly reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.</li><li>Assist with payroll entries, expense tracking, and other recurring financial processes as needed.</li><li>Identify discrepancies or unusual transactions, investigate, and resolve them efficiently.</li><li>Occasionally tackle special projects, like audits, reconciliations for new accounts, or process improvements, keeping things interesting beyond the routine.</li></ul>You&rsquo;re Probably a Match If:<ul><li>You have experience as a bookkeeper, administrative assistant, and/or activities related to real estate.</li><li>You appreciate systems and processes &mdash; and take ownership in keeping them running smoothly month after month.</li><li>You don&rsquo;t mind (or even like!) repetitive tasks &mdash; because you know consistency and accuracy are key in bookkeeping.</li><li>You can switch gears when something new comes up &mdash; a missing receipt, a reconciliation issue, or a process that needs tweaking &mdash; and enjoy figuring things out as problems arise.</li><li>You take pride in doing the little things right &mdash; catching small errors, double-checking your work, and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.</li><li>You communicate clearly and professionally &mdash; whether you&rsquo;re sending a quick update, asking a question, or explaining a bookkeeping detail</li><li>You&rsquo;re adaptable and open to change &mdash; willing to learn new tools, improve systems, and help make things better as the business grows.</li><li>You&rsquo;re comfortable working independently and don&rsquo;t need constant supervision to stay motivated - you thrive in quiet, focused environments.</li><li>You&rsquo;re someone who&rsquo;s always looking to grow &mdash; personally and professionally &mdash; and you see every task as an opportunity to learn something new or refine your skills.</li></ul>What Winning Looks Like:<ul><li>Monthly tasks like reconciliations, journal entries, and reports are completed on time and with attention to detail, month after month.</li><li>You notice small errors or inconsistencies before they become bigger problems and take proactive steps to fix them.</li><li>You stay organized even when the workload grows or priorities shift &mdash; nothing slips through the cracks.</li><li>You&rsquo;re self-driven and productive, even when working remotely, and maintain momentum without constant oversight.</li><li>You take pride in your work and can step back to see the bigger picture: clean, accurate books help businesses succeed.</li></ul>Other Stuff to Know:<ul><li>This role is primarily remote - reliable internet and a clean, productive workspace are required.</li><li>As mentioned above, you really need to enjoy computer work and working with numbers &mdash; the bulk of the job involves repeatable, month-to-month tasks.
