Position OverviewThe Communications Specialist supports the Director of Membership and Communications in implementing the Club&rsquo;s communication, marketing, and member-engagement initiatives. This role assists with digital and print communications, social media, and member technology support to ensure consistent, high-quality messaging aligned with The Venice Golf and Country Club&rsquo;s brand standards. The successful candidate considers themselves a tech savvy individual.Primary ResponsibilitiesPublications &amp; Print Materials<ul><li>Gather, edit, and organize articles, photos, and event content for The Legend newsletter and monthly calendar.</li><li>Design newsletter and calendar layouts using the provided Canva templates.</li><li>Collect and produce the monthly Statement Letter within the established Canva format.</li><li>Print, assemble, and maintain prospective-member folders and other marketing materials.</li><li>Maintain adequate inventory of printed items such as newsletters, amenities guides, and reciprocal booklets at the front desk.</li><li>Proofread all communications to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency in tone and branding.</li></ul>Digital Communications &amp; Email Marketing<ul><li>Build and schedule weekly member email blasts (typically Mondays and Wednesdays) in the MembersFirst platform using Club templates.</li><li>Assist in managing segmented email lists and targeted messaging using Jonas and MembersFirst data exports.</li><li>Track, summarize, and report email performance metrics and engagement trends.</li></ul>Website, App, and Member Support<ul><li>Keep the website and app event calendars current and accurate.</li><li>Update departmental pages, golf and bocce results, and other content as directed.</li><li>Conduct periodic data cleanup in MembersFirst and Jonas.</li><li>Provide first-line support to members and staff for website and app access, including password resets and troubleshooting.</li><li>Coordinate with IT support or the Director for any technical escalations.</li></ul>Social Media &amp; Digital Engagement<ul><li>Develop creative, on-brand social media content for the Club&rsquo;s public and member-only Facebook pages.</li><li>Capture and edit event photos and short video clips to highlight Club activities and community life.</li><li>Maintain a consistent posting schedule and monitor engagement, reporting insights and feedback.</li><li>Support digital storytelling efforts that enhance the Club&rsquo;s &ldquo;community-driven&rdquo; image.</li></ul>Administrative &amp; Marketing Support<ul><li>Scan and upload membership documents into OnPhase.</li><li>Maintain organized digital archives of newsletters, flyers, and campaign materials.</li><li>Assist with event coverage, including photography or set-up support for special occasions.</li><li>Provide general administrative support for communications and membership projects.</li><li>Collaborate on special marketing initiatives such as brochure updates, membership campaigns, and digital signage.</li></ul>Key Competencies &amp; Skills<ul><li>Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, OneDrive, Outlook).</li><li>Design Skills: Proficient in Canva.</li><li>Communication: Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities with strong attention to detail.</li><li>Organization: Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.</li><li>Tech-Savvy: Comfortable learning new platforms; experience with CRM/email systems (MembersFirst, Mailchimp, Constant Contact) preferred.</li><li>Creativity: Demonstrates an eye for design and storytelling across visual and written formats.</li><li>Independence: Works effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.</li><li>Adaptability: Able to adjust priorities and respond quickly in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.</li><li>AI Literacy: Familiar with AI tools such as ChatGPT or Canva Magic Studio for content generation and productivity.</li></ul>We are a Drug Free Workplace and Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
