Job Overview Join our vibrant team as a Zoo Camp Coordinator and ignite the curiosity and love of wildlife in children and young learners! This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work with children of diverse backgrounds while promoting environmental awareness and childhood development in a lively, outdoor setting.Duties<ul><li>Plan, organize, and implement daily camp activities that are educational, interactive, and aligned with zoological themes.</li><li>Supervise and motivate groups of children, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment through effective classroom management.</li><li>Lead nature walks, animal encounters, crafts, games, and themed lessons that promote curiosity about wildlife and conservation efforts.</li><li>Maintain safety protocols by administering basic first aid when necessary and ensuring all activities adhere to health guidelines.</li><li>Collaborate with educators and animal care staff to integrate educational content related to biology, ecology, and species-specific information.</li><li>Manage behavior management strategies to foster respectful interactions among campers and staff.</li><li>Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress, behavior, and camp updates.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, summer camp, tutoring, or early childhood education is highly preferred.</li><li>Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse groups of children effectively.</li><li>Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques.</li><li>Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; additional certifications in special education or Christian counseling are a plus.</li><li>Experience in teaching, babysitting, sports coaching, theater arts or working with students enhances your candidacy.</li><li>Passion for wildlife conservation, environmental education, and engaging young minds in outdoor learning experiences.</li><li>Excellent communication skills combined with a positive attitude and energetic approach to outdoor education.
