Duties
- Plan, organize, and implement daily camp activities that are educational, interactive, and aligned with zoological themes.
- Supervise and motivate groups of children, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment through effective classroom management.
- Lead nature walks, animal encounters, crafts, games, and themed lessons that promote curiosity about wildlife and conservation efforts.
- Maintain safety protocols by administering basic first aid when necessary and ensuring all activities adhere to health guidelines.
- Collaborate with educators and animal care staff to integrate educational content related to biology, ecology, and species-specific information.
- Manage behavior management strategies to foster respectful interactions among campers and staff.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress, behavior, and camp updates.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, summer camp, tutoring, or early childhood education is highly preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to handle diverse groups of children effectively.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques.
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; additional certifications in special education or Christian counseling are a plus.
- Experience in teaching, babysitting, sports coaching, theater arts or working with students enhances your candidacy.
- Passion for wildlife conservation, environmental education, and engaging young minds in outdoor learning experiences.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a positive attitude and energetic approach to outdoor education. Pay: $16.50 per hour
