We are seeking applicants for a Staff Accountant position to join our corporate accounting team that is responsible for several affiliated manufacturing companies. The ideal candidate will be hard working, of good character, self-starting, and a quick learner.Job Duties include:General Ledger:<ul><li>Month-end close</li><li>Monthly balance sheet reconciliation and variance analysis</li><li>Bank reconciliations</li><li>Fixed asset register management</li><li>Sales/use tax filing</li><li>CAT filing</li><li>IFTA filing</li><li>Assist with annual physical inventory</li><li>Assist with annual audit</li></ul>Administrative and Other:<ul><li>Accounts payable</li><li>Review customer billing</li><li>Participate in A/R, A/P, and other internal audits</li><li>Prepare and submit 1099 and 1096 forms</li><li>Create ad hoc reports as requested by other departments and management</li><li>Help document and improve processes and procedures</li><li>Occasional day travel to company plants</li><li>Must have vehicle on site for travel to other buildings on local campus</li><li>Additional duties as necessary</li></ul>Requirements Include:<ul><li>Must live within reasonable commuting distance as remote work and/or relocation are not available</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting plus 2-3 years of experience</li><li>Strong work ethic and ability to effectively work with minimal supervision</li><li>Ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere as well as independently with a positive attitude</li><li>Strong technical accounting and analytical skills</li><li>Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively in order to meet deadlines</li><li>Must be organized and diligent with an attention to detail</li><li>Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and Word with the ability to quickly learn new programs</li><li>Professional verbal and written communication skills</li></ul>Additional Desired/Preferred:<ul><li>Experience in manufacturing environment</li><li>Intercompany activity experience</li><li>Experience with the following software:</li><li>Sage</li><li>Sage Fixed Assets</li><li>Crystal Reports</li><li>QuickBooks</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>401(k) matching</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Disability insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Physical Setting:<ul><li>Office</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Sandusky, OH 44870 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
