Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. Your expertise will support our financial health by maintaining precise records, reconciling accounts, and preparing essential financial reports. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving organization that values integrity, accuracy, and efficiency.Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.</li><li>Perform bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between bank statements and internal records.</li><li>Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions promptly and accurately.</li><li>Record journal entries in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and ensure proper double-entry bookkeeping practices.</li><li>Reconcile accounts regularly, including balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to identify discrepancies.</li><li>Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements as needed.</li><li>Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for management review.</li><li>Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses and assisting in financial planning activities.</li><li>Conduct account reconciliation tasks such as general ledger reconciliation and account analysis to maintain data integrity.</li><li>Handle accounts payable and receivable functions efficiently while maintaining compliance with organizational policies.</li><li>Utilize technical accounting skills for complex transactions and ensure adherence to accounting standards like GAAP.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken or similar platforms.</li><li>Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and non-profit accounting practices.</li><li>Experience with governmental accounting standards and tax regulations is a plus.</li><li>Knowledge of financial concepts including debits &amp; credits, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping.</li><li>Ability to perform bank reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation accurately.</li><li>Familiarity with payroll processing and tax experience related to payroll taxes.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills; proficiency in 10-key typing is preferred.</li><li>Ability to interpret financial data clearly and write comprehensive financial reports.</li><li>Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and external auditors.
