 We're looking for a bold, strategic, and creative Public Relations Manager to lead our earned media and storytelling efforts in India&mdash;one of Asia&rsquo;s most exciting growth markets. As the Public Relations Manager for India, you&rsquo;ll be at the forefront of shaping how Indian travellers experience and connect with New Zealand. This is a strategic and creative leadership role that blends storytelling, media relations, and content strategy to inspire travel to New Zealand.
 
 
 
 
 
 You&rsquo;ll lead the direction in building awareness, driving engagement, and converting interest into visitation&mdash;bringing the magic of Aotearoa to life.

 Lead the development and execution of PR and communications strategy for the India market.
 </li>
 <li>
 Deliver high-impact earned media coverage through campaigns, events, influencers, and partnerships.
 </li>
 <li>
 Create and localise compelling content that inspires Indian travellers to visit New Zealand.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage social media activity to amplify brand messaging and engagement.
 </li>
 <li>
 Build and maintain strong relationships with media, influencers, and industry stakeholders.
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with global teams to align India&rsquo;s PR efforts with Tourism New Zealand&rsquo;s global strategy.
 </li>
 <li>
 Respond swiftly to media issues and manage crisis communications effectively.
 </li>
 <li>
 Oversee PR agency performance and ensure delivery of measurable results and ROI.
 </li>

 What you will need |

 <ul>
 <li>
 Proven experience in public relations and communications (min of 7 years) in international organisations and ideally in travel, tourism, or lifestyle sectors.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experienced in developing and executing communications strategies across Paid, Owned, Earned, and Trade channels, ensuring cohesive storytelling and brand alignment
 </li>
 <li>
 A strong commercial mindset:
 
 
 you understand how to drive value, spot opportunities, and turn strategy into measurable growth.
 </li>
 <li>
 Understanding of the Indian media landscape and consumer behaviour.
 </li>
 <li>
 Exceptional storytelling skills and a passion for creating meaningful connections.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in designing and delivering high-impact PR campaigns, including media events, influencer collaborations, and broadcast/online coverage.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strategic thinking, creativity, and the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
 </li>
 <li>
 Effective at working in a cross-cultural environment and collaborating with global teams.
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience working with matrix organisations and international teams
 </li>
 <li>
 Experienced with managing PR Agencies
 </li>
 <li>
 Fluent in English
 </li>
 <li>
 A passion for New Zealand and a desire to share its stories with the world
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
 </li>
