 The Town of Marana is seeking a
 
 Fleet Technician II
 
 to work in the
 
 Public Works Department.
 
 This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity for someone interested in working in a fast paced environment providing comprehensive care for the Town's fleet vehicles and equipment. Tools, equipment and PPE provided by the Town.

 Expected Hiring Range: $20.65/hour - $25.30/hour
 
 
 
 <ul>

 </ul>
 Salary Range: $20.65/hour - $29.94/hour
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Performs inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs of a variety of vehicles and equipment (e.g., oil changes and air filters, tire maintenance, thorough inspection of all engine, transmission, a/c repair and diagnostics, cooling, brakes and suspension components, hydraulic system, and batteries).
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs tire inspections, including repairs, replacement, balancing and usage of scan tools for tire pressure monitoring systems.
 </li>
 <li>
 Troubleshoot/diagnose problems using computer technology and technical documentation to identify planned maintenance and inspection actions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Repairs/replaces broken and worn out parts.
 </li>
 <li>
 Designs and fabricates various bracket, racks and bumpers.
 </li>
 <li>
 Plans, prioritize, and schedules daily activities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Creates work orders, completes inspection forms, and provides customer service to department/employees on maintenance updates.
 </li>
 <li>
 Uses a larger variety of hand and power tools and jacks.
 </li>
 <li>
 Insures proper safety guidelines are followed when performing tasks.
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintains shop by completing daily janitorial cleaning tasks.
 </li>
 <li>
 Keeps up-to-date on the latest automotive technologies.
 </li>
 <li>
 Responds to emergency call-outs and on call rotations.
 </li>
 <li>
 High school diploma or equivalent plus 6 months education or training.
 </li>
 <li>
 Over three years' of current and continuous experience in automotive mechanics service and repair,
 </li>
 <li>
 1 ASE Certification or must obtain within 6 months.
 </li>
 <li>
 Certified in automotive and truck air conditioning systems or must obtain within 6 months of hire.
 </li>
 <li>
 Recent Tire repair, service and replacement experience. Training of TPMS scan tools will be available.
 </li>
 <li>
 Valid Arizona Driver License.
 </li>
 <li>
 Must complete a pre-employment physical including an audiogram and pass a 50-pound lift test.
 </li>
 <li>
 Must complete both the Town of Marana background check and a motor vehicle records check.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills &amp; abilities to successfully perform essential functions may be considered.
 
 
 
 Preferred Qualifications
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Three years of recent continuous employment by a licensed repair facility.
 </li>
 <li>
 Additional ASE Certifications.
 </li>
 <li>
 Tire Industry Association Certification or equivalent.
 </li>
 <li>
 Basic scan tool and tire pressure monitor systems experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Motorcycle experience a plus.
 </li>
 <li>
 Small engine repair experience a plus.
 </li>
 <li>
 Medium to heavy on road truck repair and maintenance a plus.
