Human Resources &amp; Payroll Specialist Position Overview:The Town of Mount Olive is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources &amp; Payroll Specialist to join our team. This position plays a key role in supporting city employees through accurate weekly payroll processing, HR services, and accounts payable assistance. The ideal candidate will be a trusted resource for staff, promoting a positive and responsive workplace culture.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Process weekly payroll for all municipal employees with accuracy and confidentiality &bull; Maintain and update employee records in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations</li></ul><ul><li>Serve as a primary point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries, including benefits, leave, and policies</li></ul><ul><li>Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations</li></ul><ul><li>Support accounts payable functions including invoice tracking and vendor coordination &bull; Prepare HR and payroll reports for internal and external use</li></ul><ul><li>Coordinate training and development opportunities for staff</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies</li></ul><ul><li>Promote a welcoming and supportive environment for all city employees Preferred</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Associate or bachelor&rsquo;s degree in human resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field</li></ul><ul><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll and HR functions</li></ul><ul><li>Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems</li></ul><ul><li>Strong interpersonal and organizational skills</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Benefits Include: &bull; Competitive salary</li></ul><ul><li>Health, dental, and vision insurance</li></ul><ul><li>Retirement plan options</li></ul><ul><li>Paid holidays and vacation</li></ul><ul><li>Professional development opportunities</li></ul>Application Process This position will remain open until a qualified candidate is selected.
