Job Summary: We are seeking a mission-driven and experienced Director, Editorial &amp; Content Strategy to lead the editorial direction and content development for our flagship trade publication serving the professional tree care industry.The Editorial &amp; Content Strategy Director is responsible for overseeing the content curation and editing of a monthly print magazine, TCI Magazine, while also driving digital content strategy and optimization across platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a strong editorial background, a passion for environmental or green industry topics, and experience in marketing or communications, ideally within a nonprofit or member-based organization.Essential Job Functions:Editorial &amp; Print Production<ul><li>Manage the editorial calendar, content pipeline, and production schedule to ensure timely delivery.</li><li>Collaborate with designers and print vendors to oversee layout, proofing, and final production.</li><li>Collaborate with internal subject matter experts and teams to lead the creation of strategic content that is relevant and engaging.</li></ul>Digital Content Strategy<ul><li>Command a strong knowledge of evolving content consumption by channel and the impact of content form, applying learnings to identify the best content form across platforms (social, email, video, etc.)</li><li>Collaborate with the marketing team to align content with campaigns, member engagement goals, and educational initiatives.</li><li>Explore and develop multimedia content formats (e.g., videos, webinars, podcasts) to expand reach and impact.</li></ul>Team Leadership &amp; Collaboration<ul><li>Work cross-functionally with marketing, membership, and education teams to ensure content supports broader organizational goals.</li><li>Cultivate relationships with industry experts, contributors, and partners to source compelling and relevant content.</li></ul>Required Skills &amp; Abilities: <ul><li>Experience in trade or B2B publishing.</li><li>Proficiency with project management platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, and analytics tools.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</li></ul>Key Attributes Required to be Successful at TCIA: <ul><li>Be of Service.</li><li>Be a Team Player.</li><li>Be Driven.</li><li>Be Adaptable.</li><li>Be Principled.</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field; Master&rsquo;s preferred.</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>5+ years of editorial experience, including print production and digital content management.</li><li>At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.</li><li>Strong understanding of marketing principles, SEO, and content analytics.</li><li>Excellent writing, editing, and project management skills.</li><li>Experience working in or with nonprofit or mission-driven organizations is a plus.</li><li>Familiarity with the tree care industry, environmental topics, or green professions is highly desirable.</li><li>Experience in trade or B2B publishing.</li><li>Proficiency with project management platforms, Adobe Creative Suite, and analytics tools.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</li></ul>Supervisory Responsibility: 2 employees.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
