This position requires a person who has excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills, along with the ability to work within a team and independently with oversight from the Director of 9/11 Claims &amp; Benefits Practice, as well as the Team Lead.Job Duties<ul><li>An intake position involving constant telephone and/or written communication with potential new clients and existing clients</li><li>Candidates should be well-spoken and possess exceptional phone manners</li><li>Contribute to critical part of our team as you are one of the first points of contact for our clients</li><li>Ensure that our operational excellence is shown in the initial interactions with a client</li><li>Conduct follow-up client telephone interviews</li><li>Answer client questions concerning materials provided for the completion and progression of a VCF claim or WTC Health Program application</li><li>Follow-up on pending inquiries via phone, email and text as well as updating our system platform to reflect the status of all potential new clients</li><li>Administrative tasks related to opening new cases received</li><li>Communication with various entities such as police and fire departments, unions and other businesses</li><li>Understand the Policies &amp; Procedures of the VCF as well as the guidelines and requirements for enrollment into the World Trade Center Health Program as they are both constantly evolving</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Must possess exceptional phone manners and be comfortable talking to people on the phone</li><li>Must have excellent organizational, written, and communication skills</li><li>Must possess great attention to detail and be able to multi-task/prioritize their work load</li><li>Must have patience and empathy when working with clients</li><li>An understanding of first responders (i.e. police, firefighters, paramedics) and their particular needs and concerns</li><li>A bachelor&rsquo;s degree or paralegal certificate is a plus, but not required.</li><li>Preference given to those who are currently or have a background as a first responder, volunteer or professional.</li><li>Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; WORD, Excel, PowerPoint; familiar with current version of software;</li><li>Entry level knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation;</li><li>Knowledge of current DOJ guidelines and procedural requirements for both the 9/11 VCF and WTCHP;</li><li>Proficiency with Smart Advocate;</li><li>Knowledge of office equipment such as multi-function devices, telephones, facsimiles, etc.</li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills;</li><li>Excellent customer service orientation;</li><li>Great attention to detail;</li><li>Ability to multi-task/prioritize their work load;</li><li>Ability to have patience and empathy for clients;</li><li>Ability to be in the office on a daily basis, working a full day;</li><li>Notary Public (Preferred).</li></ul>*The right fit is a must.
