<div><div>This position supports this Departmental purpose through the functions of timely and accurate specimen receipt, accessioning, preparation and/or processing, and shipping for analysis on various body fluids and/or tissues&ndash; primarily in the Anatomic Pathology Client Services/Send-Outs Laboratory. Functions also include promptly answering telephones, filing and record keeping, supply inventory and ordering and general area maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position<ul><li>
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience/training.</li><li>
Have worked in an Anatomic Pathology Laboratory setting before.</li><li>
Knowledge of laboratory specimen handling, processing, storage, and shipping requirements to meet policy, procedure, and regulatory requirements.</li><li>
Knowledge of computer systems such as EMR, email, hospital Incident Reporting system (e.g., RL Solutions), and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>
Knowledge of LIS sufficient to perform specimen inquiry and other functions (batching, test cancellation, printing orders and specimen labels, etc.).</li><li>
Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and to exercise appropriate judgment when setting priorities.</li><li>
Ability complete work to meet required turnaround times, suspense dates and deadlines.</li><li>
Adequate familiarity with medical terminology (test names, specimen types, patient diagnoses, etc.)</li><li>
Possess effective verbal communication skills to answer questions from internal and external customers in clear and concise manner.</li><li>
Possess written communication skills to write clear emails, EMR messages, and reports and to convey information appropriately.</li></ul>
Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field.</li><li>

Department Overview
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is a large, diverse multi-site department whose mission is to create a healthier world through bold innovation in public health, education, technology and research. UC Davis is leading the way in diagnosing, treating, and ultimately preventing disease. Pathology brings these efforts together with education and patient care to transform the field. This position sets the highest standards for professionalism and competency in providing high quality customer service, diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients within UCDHS and its affiliates. Our laboratories are licensed by the State of California, certified by CLIA, accredited by College of American Pathologists (CAP), AABB, and Foundation for Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), and located in three distinct facilities: Surgery and Emergency Services Pavilion (SESP); Pathology Building; and the Specialty Testing Center (STC). The department is one of UCDMC's largest ancillary services with annual gross revenues of over $415M, expenses of approximately $65M, and more than 350 overall employees in the department's clinical and academic sections. The Technology Operations Center (TOC) provides day-to-day advanced consultation, training, instruction and troubleshooting / problem-solving to customer for hardware, software, network, and related computer systems, handheld and peripheral devices and ensures their operation for individuals and groups of computer users 24/7.The primary channel for customer to contact the TOC are phones, however there are services offered by TOC that that will require the incumbent to be based at a Walk-Up Center or be available on the main campus or clinics physically. The TOC Endpoint Analyst will provide support for various customer endpoint technologies at a proficient level, this may also include support of other applications and technologies while engaged with the customer on the phone. The incumbent must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to make decisions that have institutional effect in the environment. As part of the TOC team this position works closely with customers in utilizing remote technologies, other IT Support Teams to efficiently resolve customer support issues. The incumbent provides a competent level of hardware, application, and network support to UCDH staff/faculty via remote control. Must be able to work go-live support or other hours as assigned up to 5 times per year. May occasionally be required to work an extended shift.

TOC EndPoint Analyst

<div><div>This position serves the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, under the direction of the Supportive Oncology Services Department. The outpatient pediatric hematology-oncology social worker provides psychosocial assessments, counseling, education, mandated reporting, and advocacy services to pediatric, and young adult hematology-oncology patients, their families and caregivers. In addition, the Oncology Social Worker, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), provides consultative support and education regarding the psychosocial impact of cancer to Cancer Center providers. If serving a pediatric population, will need to meet eligibility for CCS paneling. 
 
The LCSW shall adhere to and promote the ethics and values of the social work profession, using the NASW Code of Ethics as a guide to ethical decision making. The LCSW will advocate for the patient's right to self-determination, confidentiality, access to supportive services and resources, and appropriate inclusion in decision making that affects their health and well-being. The LCSW will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team by identifying and offering services that address the biopsychosocial needs of the patient. #CA-SB

Department Overview
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is a team member of Supportive Oncology Services (SOS), providing supportive care at the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center. This mission of SOS is to serve people whose lives are affected by cancer, through comprehensive assessment and expert management of a myriad of challenges they face.
Department Specific Job Scope
The department is based in the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, within the pediatric hematology-oncology subspecialty on the UC Davis Health medical campus. The pediatric hematology-oncology clinic provides comprehensive hematology-oncology care for pediatric patients. Treating the full range of hematology-oncology diseases for patients ages 0 to young adult (mid-to-late 20s) and beyond. Oncologists work with teams made up of APPs, nurses, social workers, dietitians, and other medical staff to educate, treat, support, and coordinate care for patients and families. The LCSW will provide psychosocial assessments, counseling as well as safety assessments and mandated reporting, support group facilitation, education, resource and psychosocial care coordination for patients and families.
