<div><div><b>Primary Purpose of Position</b></div>
<div>Research Technician for Bioengineering Lab to support grant work. Duties include preparing media, reagents, and chemical solutions for specimen testing. Observe,measure and prepare tests. Collect and record data. Technician will provide routing care and properly dispose of subjects after testing is complete.</div>

<div><div><b>Essential Job Duties</b></div>
<div>Preferred candidate will have experience working in a lab environment. Employee duties include being responsible for animal procurement and disposal, making of solutions,setup and cleaning of the perfusion system (normothermic, subnormothermic, hypothermic), taking samples, perform assays, data collection, ordering of supplies, etc.</div>

<div><div><b>Other Work Responsibilities</b></div>
<div><div>The research tech will be responsible for the daily duties of the laboratory including solution preparation, ordering of supplies, data acquisition, etc. Specifically, they will prepare for animal surgeries, organ digestion, and primary cell isolation. In addition, he/she will be responsible for organ digestion, primary cell isolation, organoid forming and culturing. The research tech will also perform cryo experiments, assess viability, yield and function. Additional responsibilities may expand as the projects grows including isolated organ perfusion. Skills in general biology lab techniques, cell culturing, microscopy, and assays are a plus.<br>
</div><div>Employee Duties Include:</div><ul>
<li>Maintain working knowledge of research practices and accepted protocols, and skills to organize an academic research lab.</li>
<li>Conduct tests and experiments in accordance with the grant guidelines and properly, accurately and consistently document results with minimal supervision.</li>
<li>Utilize skills and technical ability to perform tests, analyze results and calibrate measurement devices without assistance or correction.</li>
<li>Use appropriate equipment, chemicals and research practices to accurately document results. Assist the supervisor with lab management.</li>
<li>Utilize skills and experience to conduct routine tests, assist and follow lab procedures consistently. Maintain knowledge required to recognize abnormal results, identify outliers and report questionable data to the supervisor for resolution. (This requires greater skill than just observing and collecting.)</li>
<li>Contribute to the upkeep of equipment by fixing small issues or notifying the supervisor for larger repairs.</li>

<div><div><b>Duties and Responsibilities</b></div>
<div>A Postdoctoral Fellow (&quot;&quot;postdoc&quot;&quot;) is a professional apprenticeship designed to provide recent Ph.D. recipients with an opportunity to develop further the research skills acquired in their doctoral programs or to learn new research techniques, in preparation for an academic or research career. In the process of further developing their own research skills, it is expected that Postdoctoral Fellows will also play a significant role in the performance of research at the University and augment the role of graduate faculty in providing research instruction to graduate students. A Postdoctoral Fellow works under the supervision of a regular faculty member, who serves as a mentor to the Fellow, and it is expected that the faculty mentor will impart the realities, and variety, of scientific careers, and will encourage experiences outside the laboratory to broaden postdocs&rsquo; aspirations. Within the confines of the particular research focus assigned by that faculty member, the Postdoctoral Fellow functions with a considerable degree of independence and has the freedom (and is expected) to publish the results of his or her research or scholarship during the period of appointment. Thus, the role of Postdoctoral Fellows is clearly differentiated from full-time technical employees.<br>

<div><div><b>Other Work/Responsibilities</b></div>
<div><div>We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to participate in this project in collaboration with a group of collaborators with complementary expertise. This project intends to develop a new type of SRAM technology, namely FET-LET hybrid SRAM, an electronic-photonic integrated circuit in a signal-functional-unit level.<br>
<br>
The postdoctoral researcher will report to Dr. Yong Zhang and contribute to the project through original research, collaboration with team members, and mentoring of students. They will also play a key role in securing external funding by contributing to grant proposals.<br>
</div><div>While working closely with Dr. Zhang, the postdoctoral researcher will exercise a significant degree of independent judgment and original thinking in conducting research that contributes to new knowledge and enhances UNC Charlotte&rsquo;s reputation in research. Research findings, if appropriate, will be published in peer reviewed journals in collaboration with Dr. Zhang and other collaborators.<br>

</div><ul><li>Conduct consultations (early, mid, end career) regarding options, eligibility, and steps to retire from Teachers&rsquo; State Employees&rsquo; Retirement System (TSERS); Optional Retirement Plan (ORP); Phased Retirement</li>
<li>Consult employees on supplemental retirement plans (contribution limits and plan rules, enrollment/changes/cancellations, and leave payout deferrals)</li>
<li>Enter and monitor retirement transactions</li>
