</p><p>The Global Digital Compact is a comprehensive framework designed to foster global cooperation in governing digital technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Adopted in September 2024 alongside The Pact for the Future, it provides a roadmap for enhancing global digital collaboration, harnessing the vast potential of digital technologies, and bridging existing digital divides. Negotiated by 193 member states and informed by global consultations, this framework commits governments to upholding international law and human rights online. It emphasizes the need for concrete actions to ensure the digital space is safe and secure. Acknowledging the vital contributions of the private sector, technical communities, researchers, and civil society, the Compact calls on all stakeholders to collaborate in realizing an open, safe, and secure digital future for all.
</p><p>The UN recognizes that Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significant potential to support the UN by promoting inclusivity, reducing inequalities, helping to accelerate nearly 80% of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and strengthening the work of the United Nations system. So far, the benefits of AI are unevenly distributed, concentrated in a few powerful companies and countries. As United Nations Secretary-General Ant&oacute;nio Guterres recently affirmed, many nations struggle to access AI tools, highlighting the need for international cooperation and solidarity to bridge the AI gap for developing countries.
</p><p>To respond effectively to these global developments, UN Women supports UN Women Country Offices, Programme Presences UN Women Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific thematic teams and national governments and partners in ensuring that AI practice, policies and governance systems are gender-responsive and grounded in human rights; and that gender-responsive AI capacities are strengthened to enable AI to be used as a force for good.
</p><p>UN Women Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific has demonstrated a track record of support ranging from capacity building, AI tool development, knowledge products, and policy/strategy facilitation across UN Women offices and partners in Asia and the Pacific. This retainer intends to build on this legacy of support to respond to the gender-responsive AI-specific needs of UN Women Country Offices, Programme Presences and UN Women Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific.
</p><p>The detailed terms of reference for specific assignments will be developed by hiring managers in consultation with selected consultants. Each consultant will be expected to deliver on specific outputs defined in individual work orders, aligned with their respective technical expertise. Under the retainer arrangement, while selected consultants may be approached for assignments, there is no guarantee of work, and consultants retain the right to decline specific requests.<br>

</p><p>In the Arab States region, UN Women is implementing an exciting and unique regional programme entitled &lsquo;Dare to Care&rsquo; from October 2023 to April 2027, with the goal of transforming patriarchal social norms and masculinities. The programme has a regional focus on six countries (Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Tunisia, Lebanon and Palestine) and in-country investments in four of them: Morocco, Egypt, Jordan and Tunisia. This ground-breaking regional programme aims to promote gender equality and women&rsquo;s empowerment using the involvement of men and boys in unpaid care and household responsibilities as an entry point. The programme is also meant to contribute to shifting discriminatory social norms and break stereotypes that impede women&rsquo;s participation in paid employment and the public sphere.
</p><p>The &rsquo;Dare to Care&rsquo; regional programme is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the German International Development Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and the Basque Country&rsquo;s International Development Cooperation Agency. It works towards the achievement of three following outcomes:
</p><ul><li>Outcome 1: Societies across the MENA region demonstrate an increased involvement of men and boys in caregiving and household responsibilities and more empowerment of women and girls.
</li><li>Outcome 2: Key institutions effectively transform patriarchal masculinities and social norms, with a focus on advancing caregiving and household responsibilities of men and boys and the economic empowerment of women and girls.
</li><li>Outcome 3: More men and boys are able to take their share in caregiving and household responsibilities with more enabling laws and policies that promote their caregiving and household responsibilities, and paternity leave.
</li></ul><p>The programme also aims to engage with religious actors and institutions to promote gender-equitable interpretations of religious teachings and practices, particularly to promote the involvement of men and boys in unpaid care and household responsibilities, and to eliminate stereotypes against women&rsquo;s participation in the public sphere.
</p><p><b>About the Position:
 </b></p><p>Reporting to the &ldquo;Dare to Care&rdquo; Regional Programme Manager, the Programme Analyst contributes to the effective management of the &ldquo;Dare to Care&rdquo; programme in the Regional Office by providing substantive inputs to programme design, formulation, implementation and evaluation. The Programme Analyst guides and facilitates the delivery of the &ldquo;Dare to Care&rdquo; programme by monitoring results achieved during implementation and ensuring appropriate application of systems and procedures and develops enhancements if necessary. The Programme Analyst works in close collaboration with the programme and operations team from ROAS and country offices, UN Women HQ personnel, intergovernmental and government government officials, donors, academia, private sectorand civil society ensuring successful programme implementation.

Programme Analyst (Dare To Care) - NOB - Local post for Nationals of Egypt

</p><p>In support of the Arab Republic of Egypt&rsquo;s Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women (NSEEW), the work of the UN Women Egypt Country Office (ECO) is grounded in the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Beijing Platform for Action (BPfA). Under the Egypt/UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2023-2027 and the Entity&rsquo;s portfolio therein, UN Women implements its triple mandate of supporting normative standard-setting to advance gender equality and women's empowerment, implementing national and grassroots programmes grounded in international norms and best practices in partnership with national stakeholders, and strengthening UN system coordination. Communications Analyst

</b></p><div><p>The RBEC Sustainability Facility is hosted within the Office of the Chief Economist at the UNDP Istanbul Regional Hub (IRH), Regional Bureau for Europe and Central Asia (RBEC). The Facility is a regional, modular policy and investment framework designed to operationalize Article 55 of the UN Charter by accelerating sustainable, inclusive, and climate-informed development across the Europe and Central Asia region.
</p></div><div><p>The Sustainability Facility responds to mounting structural challenges facing RBEC economies, including high debt burdens, fiscal constraints, demographic decline, climate risks, and slowing progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). </b></p><p>Education:
</p><div><ul><li>Advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Economics, International Development, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or related field is required.
</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>OR A first-level university degree (bachelor&rsquo;s degree) in the above fied with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.
</li></ul></div><p>Experience:
</p><p>Up to 2 years of relevant professional experience (with Master&acute;s degree) or minimum 2 years or a minimum of 2 years with a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree, in programme management, operations, development projects, or related areas
</p><p>Required skills:
</p><div><ul><li>Experience supporting programme implementation and operations in development contexts.
</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>Experience with financial, procurement, and administrative processes.
</li></ul></div><div>Proficiency in using UNDP corporate systems (e.g. Quantum) or similar ERP systems.<br>
