We&rsquo;re looking for a technical UI/UX Product Designer who understands that secure authentication products are fundamentally different from consumer apps. Our workflows are complex, multi-step, security-sensitive, and used by clinicians, officers, IT staff, and enterprise administrators &mdash; not casual consumers.This role is deeply embedded with engineering. You will work directly with developers, product leads, support teams, and sales to refine the UX across the entire GateKeeper ecosystem:<ul><li>Windows Client software</li><li>Windows Credential Provider (logon UI)</li><li>GateKeeper Hub (SaaS dashboard)</li><li>Password Manager</li><li>Android &amp; iOS apps</li></ul>We don&rsquo;t want a &ldquo;visual designer.&rdquo;We need someone who thinks like a product engineer &mdash; someone who can break down workflows, simplify decision paths, and design around the realities of authentication, security, timing, error handling, and device states.This is a hands-on, analytical role for someone who can deliver both immediate UX improvements and help shape the next stage of our product experience.What You&rsquo;ll Do<ul><li>Own the user experience across all GateKeeper products: desktop client, login interface, web dashboard, mobile apps, and password manager.</li><li>Work closely with engineering, product, support, and sales teams to understand real-world usage patterns and pain points.</li><li>Dive deeply into authentication and identity workflows to understand which screens and actions are most critical &mdash; and optimize them accordingly.</li><li>Conduct lightweight user interviews, field observations, and usability testing to guide design decisions.</li><li>Produce UX flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI assets ready for implementation.</li><li>Create and maintain a unified, practical, security-conscious design system across all interfaces.</li><li>Transform complex authentication logic, device states, and security behaviors into clear, intuitive user paths.</li><li>Balance ideal UX principles with engineering constraints and enterprise deployment realities.</li><li>Advocate for thoughtful, user-centric design within a highly technical, engineering-driven environment.</li></ul>What You&rsquo;ll Bring<ul><li>3&ndash;6+ years of experience in UI/UX, product design, interaction design, or related roles.</li><li>A portfolio demonstrating strong UX thinking, structured flows, and clean, functional interfaces &mdash; not just visual polish.</li><li>Experience working directly with software engineers and understanding technical limitations.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, especially when explaining UX reasoning to highly technical teammates.</li><li>Comfortable working in environments with minimal preexisting UX structure.</li><li>Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar tools.</li><li>Solid understanding of accessibility, responsive design, and B2B/SaaS UX patterns.</li><li>Ability to simplify complex workflows and make enterprise software intuitive and predictable.</li></ul>Bonus Skills<ul><li>Experience with authentication systems, identity management, cybersecurity, or enterprise IT.</li><li>Familiarity with Windows desktop UX or WPF.</li><li>Understanding of mobile platform constraints (Android/iOS).</li><li>Experience designing for high-security, reliability-critical applications.</li></ul>Mindset &amp; Personality Fit<ul><li>Functional-First: Prioritizes clarity, predictability, and usability over flashy visuals.</li><li>Empathetic: Understands the demands placed on users working in high-pressure environments.</li><li>Curious: Digs deeply into flows, edge cases, and technical context before proposing changes.</li><li>Collaborative: Enjoys working closely with engineering and other cross-functional teams.</li><li>Resourceful: Operates effectively with limited precedent and evolving requirements.</li><li>Practical: Designs solutions that respect engineering realities and real-world deployment needs.</li></ul>Why Join Us<ul><li>Your work directly impacts mission-critical authentication used by hospitals, law enforcement, manufacturing, and enterprise environments.</li><li>Opportunity to help formalize and strengthen the UX foundation for a growing cybersecurity company.</li><li>Work closely with decision-makers &mdash; low bureaucracy, fast iteration, direct influence.</li><li>Shape the long-term UX across multiple platforms: desktop, mobile, web, and secure login flows.</li><li>Potential for full-time conversion based on performance and impact.</li></ul>About UsWe&rsquo;re a fast-moving cybersecurity company developing the GateKeeper platform &mdash; a secure authentication and identity solution trusted across healthcare, manufacturing, government, and enterprise organizations.Our engineering team has built a sophisticated, multi-platform ecosystem.
