We are looking for a strong self-starter who is organized, technologically literate, and excited to take ownership of clinic processes.Core Responsibilities Clinical and Patient Care<ul><li>Provide high-quality nursing care and technical support during exams, diagnostics, and procedures</li><li>Perform phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, laboratory testing, radiographs, anesthesia monitoring, and patient recovery</li><li>Ensure patient safety, comfort, and gentle handling at all times</li><li>Support client education, discharge instructions, and follow-up care</li></ul>Operations and Practice Management<ul><li>Lead and manage inventory systems, including ordering, tracking, and optimization</li><li>Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)</li><li>Design and implement training programs for new hires and ongoing staff development</li><li>Assist with shift scheduling and daily staffing coordination</li><li>Oversee clinic cleanliness, organization, and adherence to protocols</li><li>Identify inefficiencies and lead process improvement initiatives</li><li>Support technology adoption and workflow optimization</li><li>Experience with Vetspire is a bonus, though comfort with modern practice management systems is required</li></ul>Leadership and Team Oversight<ul><li>Provide guidance and mentorship to veterinary assistants, per diem LVTs, and nursing staff</li><li>Help maintain accountability, consistency, and high clinical standards</li><li>Act as a calm, solution-oriented presence in a growing practice</li><li>Collaborate closely with the Owner and Medical Director on clinic operations and growth</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Active New York State Licensed Veterinary Technician license required</li><li>Strong clinical skill set with confidence in anesthesia, diagnostics, and patient care</li><li>Excellent organizational and time management skills</li><li>Comfortable with technology and learning new systems</li><li>Proven ability to work independently and take initiative</li><li>Leadership experience or interest in operational responsibility strongly preferred</li><li>Clear, professional communication skills and a team-oriented mindset</li></ul>Schedule and Employment Status<ul><li>Full-time position</li><li>Schedule aligned with clinic operating hours and staffing needs</li><li>Occasional flexibility expected during growth phases</li></ul>Compensation and Benefits<ul><li>Hourly pay of $35 to $40 per hour</li><li>Health insurance stipend equal to 50 percent of the ACA premium, based on annual wages</li><li>Paid Time Off: 80 hours annually, accrued over time</li><li>Paid Sick Time: 5 days per year</li><li>Scrubs provided by the clinic</li><li>Continuing Education allowance of $1,500 after six months of full-time employment</li><li>Employee discounts on services and products</li></ul>Why Uptown PawsUptown Paws is building a modern, high-functioning veterinary clinic that values efficiency without burnout, high standards without chaos, and growth without corporate pressure.
