Uptown Paws Veterinary Clinic is seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) who excels clinically and is also motivated by operations, organization, and leadership. This role is ideal for an LVT who enjoys building systems, improving workflows, and helping a growing clinic run smoothly and sustainably.

This position blends hands-on patient care with operational oversight and team leadership. We are looking for a strong self-starter who is organized, technologically literate, and excited to take ownership of clinic processes.

Core Responsibilities Clinical and Patient Care

• Provide high-quality nursing care and technical support during exams, diagnostics, and procedures
• Perform phlebotomy, IV catheter placement, laboratory testing, radiographs, anesthesia monitoring, and patient recovery
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and gentle handling at all times
• Support client education, discharge instructions, and follow-up care

Operations and Practice Management

• Lead and manage inventory systems, including ordering, tracking, and optimization
• Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Design and implement training programs for new hires and ongoing staff development
• Assist with shift scheduling and daily staffing coordination
• Oversee clinic cleanliness, organization, and adherence to protocols
• Identify inefficiencies and lead process improvement initiatives
• Support technology adoption and workflow optimization
• Experience with Vetspire is a bonus, though comfort with modern practice management systems is required

Leadership and Team Oversight

• Provide guidance and mentorship to veterinary assistants, per diem LVTs, and nursing staff
• Help maintain accountability, consistency, and high clinical standards
• Act as a calm, solution-oriented presence in a growing practice
• Collaborate closely with the Owner and Medical Director on clinic operations and growth

Qualifications

• Active New York State Licensed Veterinary Technician license required
• Strong clinical skill set with confidence in anesthesia, diagnostics, and patient care
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Comfortable with technology and learning new systems
• Proven ability to work independently and take initiative
• Leadership experience or interest in operational responsibility strongly preferred
• Clear, professional communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Schedule and Employment Status

• Full-time position
• Schedule aligned with clinic operating hours and staffing needs
• Occasional flexibility expected during growth phases

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay of $35 to $40 per hour
• Health insurance stipend equal to 50 percent of the ACA premium, based on annual wages
• Paid Time Off: 80 hours annually, accrued over time
• Paid Sick Time: 5 days per year
• Scrubs provided by the clinic
• Continuing Education allowance of $1,500 after six months of full-time employment
