Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Abides by and enforces all compliance requirements and policies and performs these responsibilities in an ethical manner consistent with the organization's values.<br>
Adheres to hospital policies including confidentiality.<br>
Assists with the orientation of new employees.<br>
Requires minimal supervision to safely perform patient care/essential functions.<br>
Utilizes proper body mechanics when:<ul><li>
Moving equipment and or supplies that are necessary to perform essential functions.<br>
Reports broken or malfunctioning equipment to supervisor or department head.<br>
Drives cars, trucks and vans to various sites throughout local area, in accordance with State and Local laws and safety regulations.<br>
Picks up, loads, moves and delivers materials, mail, packages and equipment up to 50 lbs. in accordance with the printed route schedule.<br>
Inspects vehicles daily and maintains proper levels of gas, oil, water, tire pressure and cleanliness. Must have the ability to change flat tires when necessary.<br>
Responds by telephone to non-routine routing instructions.</li></ul></li><li>

Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards</li><li>

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Functions as a member of a coordinated patient care team and receives direction, assignment, and supervision from a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support the delivery of patient care services throughout the organization.</li><li>
Accepts assignments across multiple patient care units based on staffing and patient care needs</li><li>
Provides one-to-one patient safety observation for patients requiring continuous monitoring due to behavioral health concerns, cognitive impairment, confusion, elopement risk, suicide precautions, or other safety concerns</li><li>
Maintains continuous visual observation of assigned patients in accordance with hospital policy and physician orders</li><li>
Recognizes and immediately reports changes in patient behavior, condition, or safety risks to the RN/LPN</li><li>
Uses therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques as appropriate for behavioral observation patients</li><li>
Identifies and reports environmental safety hazards and assists in maintaining a safe patient environment</li><li>
Documents observation activities and patient behaviors according to organizational policy</li><li>
Transitions between Patient Care Assistant duties and patient safety observation duties during a shift based on patient needs and staffing requirements</li><li>
Demonstrates flexibility in adapting to different units, patient populations, workflows, and care environments</li><li>
Provides support during periods of increased census, staffing shortages, admissions, transfers, discharges, and other operational needs</li><li>
Maintains competency to work in multiple patient care areas as assigned</li><li>
Communicates effectively with interdisciplinary team members across multiple departments</li><li>

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Assists in emergency treatment of acute cardio-respiratory arrest</li><li>
Administers continuous and intermittent cardio-pulmonary therapy and medications to the respiratory tract and is able to state the purpose, rationale,</li><li>
precautions and observations related to those procedures</li><li>
Assesses patients' progress according to care plan and suggests modes of therapy to physicians and nurses</li><li>
Requires minimal supervision to safely perform patient care</li><li>
