<p></p><div><ul><li>Analyzes, implements, manages, and monitors solutions to defend against cyberattacks, hacking attempts, and threats. Maintains the university&rsquo;s information systems security infrastructure, ensuring that security controls are properly configured, monitored, and updated to address evolving risks effectively.</li><li>
Conducts scans and audits of systems for vulnerabilities and security risks to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices. Observes and responds to Intrusion Detection System (IDS)cues and anti-virus alerts. Recommend and implement changes to enhance system security and prevent unauthorized access.</li><li>
Stays abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, and makes recommendations for continuous improvement to enhance the organization's security posture.Follows regulatory changes affecting higher education at the state and national levels. Cross-trains on the duties of the UVU Information Security Team to provide support to UVU when others on the team are not available.</li><li>
Educates and communicates security requirements and procedures, and provides support and guidance on security issues and incident handling for all of campus to promote a culture of security awareness.</li><li>

<div><p>The Department of Information Systems and Technology (www.uvu.edu/ist) invites applications for two one-year, full-time non-tenure-track lecturer faculty positions to begin August 2026. These positions are one-year placeholders for tenure-track positions in the area of Cybersecurity.<br>

Cybersecurity faculty plan, prepare, and teach undergraduate courses in the following areas: security fundamentals, digital forensics, penetration testing, incident handling, compliance and auditing, computer networking, systems administration, and scripting.<br>
