We are in search of a Paralegal/Legal Secretary for our Chicago office. Experience in plaintiff personal injury litigation required and Workers' compensation would be a plus but is not required.Qualifications<ul><li>Prior experience in a personal injury as a legal secretary and/or paralegal </li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail</li><li>Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Professional written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Familiarity with medical records and personal injury workflows is a plus</li><li>Familiarity with e-filing and various court rules, procedures and deadlines</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software</li></ul>Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist attorneys with pre-litigation and litigation case preparation, including:</li><li>Reviewing and summarizing medical records</li><li>Creating medical and factual chronologies</li><li>Drafting demand packages and correspondence</li><li>Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, and other third parties</li><li>Request, track, and organize medical records, bills, and other case documentation</li><li>Draft and file pleadings, discovery, and other legal documents as needed</li><li>Maintain accurate and organized case files (electronic and physical)</li><li>Manage deadlines, calendars, and task lists to ensure timely case progression</li><li>Assist with litigation support as cases progress, including trial preparation when necessary</li><li>Identify liens and negotiate lien reductions under attorney supervision</li><li>Perform general administrative and clerical duties to support the legal team</li></ul>This position is full-time, in-office. It is not remote.We are looking for an applicant who is diligent, a good team player, a fast-learner, and has a positive attitude.
