 We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join the Peptide Synthesis group at VidaVinci to establish and build a purification-specific function. This role offers a unique opportunity for an innovative and scientifically-driven individual to play a key role in high-throughput synthesis and purification of compound libraries to support both platform development and drug discovery programs. The ideal candidate for this role will have hands-on experience in peptide purification techniques, solid and liquid-phase peptide synthesis, implementation of enabling technologies, method development, and analysis of novel chemical matter. This is an on-site role in Watertown, MA.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Interface with synthetic and medicinal chemistry teams to address synthesis and purification challenges by implementing new techniques and instrumentation
 </li>
 <li>
 Interface with compound management to enable seamless access to the newly purified compounds to the corresponding stakeholders
 </li>
 <li>
 Establishing, implementing, and managing a purification workflow for novel peptides and complex small-molecules to support drug discovery programs
 </li>
 <li>
 Identify challenges and bottlenecks in methods and workflows and propose innovative solutions to increase throughput
 </li>
 <li>
 Evaluate status of peptide synthesis and purification capabilities and work with leadership to plan for equipment, software, and personnel needs
 </li>
 <li>
 Program, operate, maintain and troubleshoot automated synthesis and purification systems, HPLC, lyophilizers, rotovaps and other standard equipment
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop preparative HPLC methods and purify novel compounds
 </li>
 <li>
 Characterize newly synthesized compounds by LC-MS, NMR, circular dichroism or other analytical methods
 </li>
 <li>
 Use an ELN and LIMS to keep detailed records and register new compounds
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate across functions to plan synthesis projects, provide regular updates to stakeholders, and deliver high-quality compounds with a fast turnaround
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 
 
 
 
 Qualifications
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Scientist: PhD in Chemistry or a related field, including purification or separation of complex molecules, with 0-2 years of industry experience, or Master&rsquo;s degree with 4+ years of relevant industry experience, or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience
 </li>
 <li>
 Senior Scientist: PhD in Chemistry or a related field, including purification or separation of complex molecules, with 4+ years of experience, or Master&rsquo;s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in purification techniques, including HPLC (UV and MS-triggered) and SPE, experience with a variety of stationary phases, including normal, reverse, size-exclusion, and ion-exchange
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience in advanced analytical techniques such as CD, NMR, UV-VIS, FTIR
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and plan work autonomously
 </li>
 <li>
 Skills to supervise junior group members and communicate effectively with colleagues and senior leadership across disciplines
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to manage time efficiently and meet ambitious deadlines
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of lab safety standards and procedures
 </li>
 <li>
 Eager to solve problems and make a positive impact
 </li>
