We buy and sell truckloads of food products to major grocery chains across the continental United States. We are a small, close-knit team of nine people who take pride in doing honest, reliable business &mdash; and we have been at it for 30 years.This is a permanent, part-time position based in our Sharon office. No travel is required, and remote work is not available for this role.The OpportunityWe are looking for a motivated, organized Sales Assistant to support our sales team. You will be an important connection between our team and our customers &mdash; helping keep accounts informed, following up on deals, and keeping our data accurate and up to date.This role is a great fit for someone who is comfortable on the phone, detail-oriented, and looking for a stable part-time position with real growth potential. Strong performers will be considered for full-time employment.What You'll Do<ul><li>Follow up with existing customers by phone after promotional offers are sent via email</li><li>Contact customer accounts with special deals and time-sensitive offers as directed</li><li>Maintain and update customer records in our database</li><li>Enter offers accurately and on time into our custom sales system</li><li>Prepare and forward daily action summaries to the sales manager</li><li>Support the sales team with related administrative tasks as needed</li></ul>What We're Looking For<ul><li>Confident and professional on the phone &mdash; you'll speak with grocery buyers and business owners</li><li>Organized and detail-oriented &mdash; accuracy in data entry matters here</li><li>Comfortable with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook</li><li>Positive attitude and a team-first mindset</li><li>Prior experience in sales, customer service, or office administration is preferred</li><li>We will train the right person &mdash; attitude and reliability matter as much as experience</li></ul>Compensation &amp; Schedule<ul><li>$22&ndash;$26 per hour, </li></ul>&ndash; $22/hr &mdash; candidates with general customer service or office background&ndash; $24&ndash;$26/hr &mdash; candidates with prior food, distribution, or inside sales experience<ul><li>Part-time, 20&ndash;30 hours per week</li><li>Monday through Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM</li><li>Flexible start and end times available within those hours</li><li>This is a permanent (non-seasonal) position</li></ul>Path to Full-TimeStrong performers will be considered for a full-time offer, which includes a comprehensive benefits package:<ul><li>Health and dental insurance</li><li>401(k) retirement plan</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Flexible spending account (FSA)</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent</li><li>1+ year of sales, customer service, or office experience (preferred, not required)</li><li>Valid driver's license</li></ul>How to ApplyInterested candidates should submit a resume and a brief note about why this role is a good fit.
