Position Overview
We are looking for a dependable Truck Driver to support daily operations by transporting materials, equipment, and supplies to job sites throughout Columbia and the surrounding areas. A CDL (Class A or B) is strongly preferred&mdash;however, qualified candidates without a CDL may be considered.
Key Responsibilities
<ul><li>Safely operate company trucks to deliver and pick up materials, tools, and equipment
</li><li>Load and unload items using proper lifting techniques and safety procedures
</li><li>Maintain accurate delivery logs, paperwork, and documentation
</li><li>Perform routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
</li><li>Assist warehouse or field crews as needed
</li><li>Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and job-site safety standards
</li><li>Represent Walker White Mechanical with professionalism and strong customer service
</li></ul>Qualifications
<ul><li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license required; CDL Class A or B preferred
</li><li>Clean driving record; ability to pass MVR and background checks
</li><li>Prior experience operating flatbeds, box trucks, or similar vehicles a plus
</li><li>Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in warehouse and outdoor job‑site conditions
</li><li>Reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented
</li><li>Knowledge of construction or HVAC/mechanical materials a plus (not required)

About the Role
As a Commercial Pipe Welder with Walker White Mechanical, you&rsquo;ll work on a variety of commercial and industrial projects, fabricating and installing welded piping systems to exacting standards. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to jobsite safety.
Key Responsibilities
<ul><li>Weld carbon steel and stainless steel piping for commercial applications
</li><li>Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and weld symbols
</li><li>Cut, fit, and assemble pipe components for welding
</li><li>Utilize SMAW, GTAW, and other welding processes as required
</li><li>Produce welds that meet company quality standards and applicable codes
</li><li>Follow all PPE requirements, site safety rules, and OSHA guidelines
</li><li>Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and field teams to maintain project schedules
</li></ul>Qualifications
<ul><li>3+ years of commercial or industrial pipe welding experience
</li><li>Proficient in TIG, Stick, and MIG welding
</li><li>Ability to pass a weld test prior to employment
</li><li>Strong understanding of jobsite safety and safe work practices
</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying field conditions
</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications
<ul><li>Experience as a Combo Welder (carbon &amp; stainless, TIG/Stick)
</li><li>OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
</li><li>Familiarity with HVAC and mechanical piping systems
