Purpose &amp; ImpactThe Speech-Language Pathologist identifies and treats communication disorders that adversely affect a student&rsquo;s educational performance. By providing direct therapy, conducting evaluations, and maintaining high-integrity digital records, the SLP ensures that every student has the communication tools needed to access the curriculum and succeed socially and academically.Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Therapy &amp; Intervention:</li><li>Provide high-quality direct therapy to students with speech and language impairments (articulation, fluency, voice, and language) as outlined in their IEPs.</li><li>Design and implement creative, curriculum-based therapy sessions that translate to classroom success.</li><li>Evaluations &amp; Eligibility:</li><li>Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations and interpret assessment data to determine eligibility.</li><li>Lead the Speech-Language component of the Eligibility Determination process during IEP meetings.</li><li>ECATS Management &amp; Compliance:</li><li>Proficiently navigate and utilize ECATS for all student documentation, including IEP development, progress monitoring, and meeting invitations.</li><li>Ensure all service logs and session notes are entered into ECATS in a timely manner to maintain 100% compliance with state reporting.</li><li>Manage the Medicaid billing process within the ECATS platform for all eligible students to support school cost-recovery.</li><li>Consultation &amp; Collaboration:</li><li>Train teachers and staff on how to support students with communication needs in the general education setting.</li><li>Assist in the selection and implementation of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices for non-verbal students.</li></ul>Core Competencies<ul><li>Data Integrity: A commitment to accurate, &quot;audit-ready&quot; record keeping within digital platforms.</li><li>Clinical Empathy: A patient, encouraging approach with students who struggle to express themselves.</li><li>Collaborative Spirit: Willingness to &quot;push-in&quot; to classrooms rather than always &quot;pulling out&quot; for isolated therapy.</li><li>Self-Directed Management: Ability to manage a complex caseload and schedule across multiple grade levels (K-12).</li></ul>Qualifications &amp; Requirements<ul><li>Education: Master&rsquo;s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.</li><li>Licensure: * Valid North Carolina Board of Examiners for SLP &amp; Audiology license.</li><li>NC Department of Public Instruction (DPI) Certification.</li><li>Technical Skills: Must demonstrate proficiency in ECATS (or a high-level mastery of similar Special Education management software like EasyIEP/PCG with the ability to transition quickly).</li><li>Experience: Previous experience in a North Carolina public or charter school setting is highly preferred.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person
