Job SummaryWe are seeking a technically oriented buyer to join our purchasing team as a Senior Buyer reporting to the Purchasing Manager. Experience directly in the steel services industry is highly desired.The candidate should be well versed in all aspects of purchasing with a good track record of working with suppliers and internal parties alike.Having a solid organizational background and multi-tasking abilities are key aspects for the candidate to be successful in this position.Position Details:Skill Sets:<ul><li>Very detail-oriented, ability to interface effectively with suppliers and internal departments to perform duties effectively.</li><li>Flexibility and adaptability in working in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Strong computer skills in windows based operating systems and programs.</li><li>Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning software (Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is a plus).</li><li>Communication abilities to interface with general workforce to business owners.</li><li>Ability to read and understand basic steel part manufacturing and fabrication drawings.</li></ul>Key Position Requirements:<ul><li>Prepare requests for quotations.</li><li>Prepare purchase orders.</li><li>Negotiate with suppliers.</li><li>Expedite purchase orders.</li><li>Responsibility to assist accounting with purchase order / invoice discrepancies.</li></ul>&middot; Team-oriented mindset.&middot; Personal integrity and high business ethics standards capable of making principled business decisions.&middot; Strong organizational and prioritization skills.&middot; Address all internal and external questions regarding purchase orders.Optional Candidate Characteristics (Desired)&middot; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree&middot; Steel service or OEM purchasing experience (&gt;5 years).&middot; Familiarity with integrating and launching software systems.&middot; Understanding of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps &amp; Power Automate).&middot; Self-starter.&middot; Background with OEM manufacturing.Job Type: Full-timeSchedule: 8-hour shift (Monday &ndash; Friday)Work Location: In personBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timeAbility to Commute:<ul><li>Mars, PA 16046 (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Mars, PA 16046: Relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
