Our mission is to inspire and support knitters one stitch at a time through exceptional design, craftsmanship, and community.We&rsquo;re seeking a Knitwear Technical Designer to merge artistry with precision&mdash;creating timeless, modern knitwear patterns that inspire makers worldwide. This is a full-time, on-site/hybrid position based in Aurora, IL.What You&rsquo;ll Do<ul><li>Collaborate with the Creative Director to design knitwear patterns from concept to final tech pack.</li><li>Translate sketches and mood boards into detailed, production-ready knitting patterns.</li><li>Develop accurate garment specs: stitch techniques, sizing, and construction details.</li><li>Partner with product teams to select yarns, colors, and fibers aligned with trend and brand vision.</li><li>Incorporate feedback from test knitters to refine patterns for fit, comfort, and aesthetic appeal.</li><li>Maintain cohesive brand identity across collections and releases.</li><li>Manage project timelines to deliver designs on schedule and within budget.</li><li>Stay ahead of fashion and fiber trends to drive innovation and inspiration.</li></ul>What You Bring<ul><li>5+ years of professional fashion or knitwear design experience.</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Fashion Knitwear Design or related field.</li><li>Mastery of stitch patterns, garment construction, and finishing techniques.</li><li>Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, and 3D garment visualization tools.</li><li>Deep understanding of yarn behavior, fiber content, and color theory.</li><li>Proven ability to translate technical patterns into knitter-friendly instructions.</li><li>Portfolio demonstrating design range, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.</li></ul>Why Wool &amp; Co.We&rsquo;re redefining luxury craft through beauty, quality, and storytelling.
