POSITION OPENINGS: 1 (new position)
STATUS: Full Time, Contact (May &ndash; August 2026)
LOCATION: Remote in Ontario, Canada (Candidates are required to reside in the province of Ontario (or National Capital Region), maintain a private and safe workspace, and have a high-quality internet connection.)
HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours/week
HIRING RANGE: $18.50 &ndash; 19.50/hour

</li></ul>Job Summary
The People &amp; Culture student supports the P&amp;C department by assisting with routine administrative and operational tasks. The P&amp;C student will gain practical experience across key HR areas such as recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and maintaining records, wile also supporting ongoing departmental initiatives and routine operations.
Responsibilities
<ul><li>Assist with recruitment efforts by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews and conducting initial phone screens
</li><li>Coordinate onboarding logistics, including scheduling and ensuring completion of new hire documentation
</li><li>Provide general administrative support to the P&amp;C team
</li><li>Help maintain and update employee electronic records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
</li><li>Assist in organizing employee engagement and wellness programs.
</li><li>Contribute to P&amp;C projects and initiatives as assigned, specifically leading a future focused student onboarding program
</li><li>Other duties as assigned
</li></ul>CONTRIBUTES TO A HEALTHY AND SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT (at all times)
<ul><li>Complies with all Health and Safety policies, procedures and company rules established in WSPS Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS).
</li><li>Contributes to promoting a healthy, safe, and respectful culture
</li><li>Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations
</li></ul>Skills, Knowledge, Expertise
Minimum
<ul><li>Currently enrolled in a post secondary education in Human Resources, or Business Administration
</li><li>Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
</li><li>Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
</li><li>Strong organizational and planning skills
</li><li>Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
</li></ul>Preferred
<ul><li>Previous work experience considered an asset
</li></ul>Additional Requirements
<ul><li>Valid Ontario Driver&rsquo;s License and ability to travel as needed
</li><li>To support success in building connections, inclusion and collaboration, a minimum level of in person presence for the purposes of meetings is required for all team members on a quarterly basis.
</li><li>An all-employee meeting (Staff Days or equivalent) will be organized annually. All employees are required to attend the annual meeting in person. Occasional team meetings may be required in person.
</li></ul>To be eligible under the Canada Summer Jobs Program, applicants must:

</li><li>be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and
