As an integral part of our production line, you'll be empowered to develop your expertise in electronics assembly, wiring, soldering, and blueprint interpretation while enjoying a supportive environment that values your growth and dedication.Duties<ul><li>Assemble electronic components onto PCBs using hand tools, power tools, and surface mount technology (SMT) techniques in accordance with detailed schematics and blueprints.</li><li>Build electrical panels and wiring harnesses by following electrical schematic diagrams and blueprint specifications.</li><li>Use soldering equipment to connect electro-mechanical components with precision, adhering to IPC 610 standards for quality and safety.</li><li>Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to accurately assemble and troubleshoot assemblies.</li><li>Conduct testing of assembled units using ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools to ensure proper electrical functionality.</li><li>Assist in engineering troubleshooting by identifying issues with PCB assemblies or mechanical components during the manufacturing process.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized workspace while following safety protocols related to the use of hand tools, power tools, and machinery involved in electronics and mechanical assembly.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Strong understanding of PCB design, fabrication, and assembly processes including surface mount technology (SMT).</li><li>Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams for both electrical and mechanical assemblies.</li><li>Experience with soldering techniques compliant with IPC 610 standards for reliable electrical connections.</li><li>Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their role in automation within manufacturing environments.</li><li>Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment effectively during assembly and troubleshooting.</li><li>Knowledge of electro-mechanical components, electrical wiring practices, and building electrical panels.</li><li>Capable of following detailed blueprint specifications accurately while maintaining quality standards in manufacturing processes.</li><li>Basic machining skills for component fitting or mechanical assembly as needed; understanding of engineering troubleshooting methods for complex issues.</li></ul>Embark on a rewarding career where your technical expertise fuels innovation! We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support our Elastomers Division located in NW Houston. This is a full-time, onsite position requiring attendance in the office Monday through Friday. Please note that this position is not eligible for employment sponsorship now or in the future.</div> 
Essential Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Perform detailed mechanical design work, including 3D modeling and simulations (e.g., thermal, stress).</li><li>
Create detailed engineering and assembly drawings for manufacturing, ensuring designs meet input specifications.</li><li>
Conduct technical analysis and resolve engineering issues in alignment with customer and industry requirements.</li><li>
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customers, suppliers, marketing, sales, and project management, to integrate design requirements.</li><li>
Design new elastomer seals for pressure control and BOP applications and improve existing products for enhanced performance and reliability.</li><li>
Ensure compliance of designs with customer specifications, API standards, and internal design inputs.</li><li>
Highlight mechanical technical risks and participate in design reviews, presenting design concepts and solutions.</li><li>
Oversee testing, verification, and conformance of design outputs to meet design inputs, ensuring performance in R&amp;D and production phases.</li><li>
Write comprehensive test reports and create design files, including detailed documentation of results, technical reports, and test procedures.</li><li>
Work closely with operations, manufacturing, and production engineers to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.</li><li>
Lead efforts in generating new part numbers, bills of material (BOM), and managing related technical documentation.</li><li>
Address design change requests promptly and ensure timely progress reporting to management and project teams.</li><li>
Guide and coordinate the efforts of drafters and technicians involved in the design and development process.</li></ul> 
Requirements:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.</li><li>
Experience in mechanical design within a sealing technology or elastomer manufacturing environment.</li><li>
Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks) and simulation tools (e.g., FEA).</li><li>
Experience with API standards and Oil &amp; Gas sealing requirements is highly desirable.</li><li>
Familiarity with creating and managing part numbers, bills of material (BOM), and technical documentation.</li></ul>
Desired Skills:<ul><li>
Familiarity with pressure control equipment, including BOP seals and systems.</li><li>
Experience with manufacturing processes for rubber or elastomeric components.</li><li>
Knowledge of technical specifications and mechanical part selection processes.</li><li>
Knowledge of polymers, elastomers, metals, and alloys used in high-pressure sealing applications is preferred.</li><li>
Hands-on experience in testing and validation of mechanical components and managing design for manufacturability.</li></ul>
