Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Agent to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring that materials and products are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively. This position requires strong negotiation skills and a thorough understanding of supply chain management, inventory control, and e-commerce practices.Duties<ul><li>Manage the purchasing process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely acquisition of materials and products.</li><li>Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and AS400 for effective procurement operations.</li><li>Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.</li><li>Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms.</li><li>Collaborate with various departments including logistics, production planning, and merchandising to align purchasing strategies with business needs.</li><li>Monitor inventory levels and manage stock replenishment to prevent shortages or excess inventory.</li><li>Implement materials management practices to optimize supply chain efficiency.</li><li>Analyze purchasing data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.</li><li>Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles within a supply chain environment.</li><li>Strong knowledge of materials management, MRP processes, and inventory management techniques.</li><li>Proficiency in using ERP systems such as SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400.</li><li>Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.</li><li>Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and their integration into supply chain processes.</li><li>Strong analytical skills for evaluating pricing strategies and supplier performance metrics.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively across departments while managing multiple priorities effectively.</li><li>A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.
