Role Summary The Emergency Medicine Physician will provide comprehensive emergency care for patients of all ages in a 24/7 Emergency Department. This role includes rapid assessment, stabilization, treatment, and disposition of a wide range of medical, surgical, cardiac, neurologic, and trauma presentations. The physician will work closely with nursing, advanced practice providers, and ancillary staff to deliver safe, high-quality care and coordinate transfers when higher levels of care are required.Core Responsibilities <ul><li>Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and emergent conditions for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients in the Emergency Department</li><li>Lead initial stabilization and resuscitation of critically ill or injured patients, including airway management and hemodynamic support</li><li>Manage common emergency presentations, including trauma, stroke, chest pain, respiratory distress, sepsis, abdominal pain, behavioral health emergencies, and minor injuries</li><li>Perform ED procedures such as laceration repair, fracture and dislocation reduction, procedural sedation, intubation, central and peripheral line placement, and other procedures as credentialed</li><li>Determine appropriate disposition (admission, transfer, or discharge) and coordinate safe handoffs to inpatient teams or receiving facilities</li><li>Utilize evidence-based protocols and order sets to support quality and regulatory standards</li><li>Complete timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record</li><li>Participate in Emergency Department quality improvement, case review, and performance initiatives</li><li>Collaborate with hospital leadership and ED staff to support patient flow, safety, and a positive work environment</li></ul>Must-Have Qualifications <ul><li>MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school</li><li>Completion of an accredited Emergency Medicine residency or equivalent training with substantial Emergency Department experience</li><li>Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine within an agreed-upon timeframe</li><li>Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Washington and DEA registration</li><li>Current ACLS and PALS (or equivalents); ATLS required or obtainable within a defined period</li><li>Minimum of one year of independent Emergency Department practice post-residency</li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage high-acuity cases, including trauma, stroke, and cardiac emergencies</li><li>Strong communication and teamwork skills with a commitment to patient-centered care</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Prior experience in a rural or critical access hospital Emergency Department setting</li><li>Experience coordinating transfers to higher-level trauma or specialty centers</li><li>Proficiency with point-of-care ultrasound in the Emergency Department</li><li>Participation in quality improvement, patient safety, or ED operations projects</li><li>Comfort using telemedicine or remote specialty consultation platforms</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $150.00 - $170.00 per hourApplication Question(s):<ul><li>Are you currently board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine? </li><li>Are you eligible for Washington State medical licensure? </li><li>How many years of independent Emergency Department practice do you have post-residency? </li><li>Do you have recent experience managing trauma, stroke, and cardiac emergencies? </li><li>Are you comfortable practicing in a rural, critical access Emergency Department environment? </li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Master's (Preferred)</li></ul>License/Certification:<ul><li>ACLS Certification (Required)</li><li>PALS Certification (Required)</li><li>ATLS Certification (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
