Job SummaryThe Director of Education provides overall leadership for all education programs at the Yellow Springs Community Children's Center, including guidance and leadership in instruction and curriculum planning.This is a leadership role requiring compliance with Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) childcare licensing regulations and the Step Up to Quality (SUTQ) Gold Rating standards.<ul><li>Prefer candidate who is familiar with Creative Curriculum and Conscious Discipline.</li><li>Develops and maintains a sustainable process for children moving from early education programs to kindergarten.</li><li>Works with teachers and administration to develop a master schedule that utilizes staff and building resources for greatest effectiveness.</li><li>Confers with parents and staff to discuss educational activities and policies and students&rsquo; behavioral or learning problems.</li><li>Recruits, hires, trains, and evaluates teachers and supplemental educational staff and carries out personnel actions, as necessary.</li><li>Maintains employee files for licensing and monitors that staff remains current with required trainings.</li><li>Works with staff to encourage and support furthering their professional development.</li><li>With Executive Director, acts as liaison with parents, the community, external agencies, promotes positive Center image.</li><li>With Executive Director and Board, coordinates special events at Center such as 100th Anniversary.</li><li>Teaches classes or courses or provides direct care to children, if needed.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Prefer candidate with a Child Development Associate credential</li><li>A 2-year college degree in Early Childhood Education or related field</li><li>Must have 2 years of experience in childcare or education field.</li><li>One year minimum of supervisory experience is strongly preferred.</li><li>Computer skills needed, particularly with Microsoft Office and email applications, along with ability to learn the ProCare software.</li></ul>BenefitsPaid professional developmentPaid holidays and generous leaveChildcare tuition discountPay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person
