We are building a space where creators, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, and storytellers can bring bold ideas to life.We are seeking a Video Production Technician Intern who understands the technical side of production. This paid internship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience supporting working creators in a dynamic studio environment.Position OverviewThe Video Production Technician Intern will support You42 Studios members during pre-production and filming. This role is ideal for a film school student or recent graduate who has foundational knowledge of lighting, audio, and camera systems and wants real-world production experience across multiple content formats (podcasts, short-form social content, branded shoots, interviews, live events, etc.).This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you will help creators feel confident and supported while maintaining professional production standards.Key ResponsibilitiesStudio &amp; Production Support<ul><li>Assist members with studio setup (cameras, lighting, microphones, teleprompters)</li><li>Set up and break down lighting packages (LED panels, softboxes, RGB fixtures, etc.)</li><li>Configure and test audio systems (lav mics, boom mics, podcast setups, audio interfaces)</li><li>Support multi-camera productions and live switching when applicable</li><li>Monitor sound levels and lighting consistency during recording</li></ul>Pre-Production Assistance<ul><li>Help creators prep for shoots (camera placement, framing, lighting design)</li><li>Perform equipment checks and troubleshoot basic technical issues</li><li>Ensure memory cards, batteries, and storage are properly managed</li><li>Support simple set adjustments and aesthetic enhancements</li></ul>Equipment &amp; Studio Maintenance<ul><li>Maintain organization of gear, cables, and storage</li><li>Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment</li><li>Assist with routine equipment inventory and maintenance</li><li>Ensure studios are reset to standard configurations after bookings</li></ul>Member Experience<ul><li>Provide calm, professional support to creators of varying experience levels</li><li>Help first-time users feel comfortable with equipment</li><li>Represent You42 Studios as a knowledgeable and approachable production resource</li></ul>QualificationsRequired:<ul><li>Currently enrolled in a University film school or similar major OR recently graduated (within 1 year)</li><li>Working knowledge of:</li><li>DSLR/Mirrorless cameras</li><li>Basic lighting techniques (3-point lighting, key/fill/backlight)</li><li>Audio setup for video and podcasting</li><li>Familiarity with production workflows and set etiquette</li><li>Strong troubleshooting instincts</li><li>Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 40 lbs)</li><li>Availability for some evenings or weekends</li></ul>Preferred:<ul><li>Experience with Blackmagic, Sony, or Canon cinema cameras</li><li>Knowledge of OBS, live streaming setups, or ATEM switchers</li><li>Basic editing knowledge (Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve)</li><li>Experience on short films, branded shoots, or live productions</li></ul>What You&rsquo;ll Gain<ul><li>Hands-on experience inside a working production campus</li><li>Exposure to diverse creators and content formats</li><li>Real-world troubleshooting and studio operations experience</li><li>Networking opportunities with creators, filmmakers, and event producers</li><li>Potential pathway to paid technician or studio management roles</li></ul>Ideal Candidate Traits<ul><li>Calm under pressure</li><li>Detail-oriented</li><li>Service-minded</li><li>Quick learner</li><li>Passionate about storytelling and production</li><li>Excited to work in a creative, entrepreneurial environment</li></ul>Schedule &amp; Compensation<ul><li>Part-time (10&ndash;20 hours/week)</li><li>Paid internship (hourly, based on experience)</li><li>Based onsite at You42 Studios in Roswell, GA</li></ul>Job Type: InternshipExpected hours: No more than 25 per weekApplication Question(s):<ul><li>Are you currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a university film program or related field?</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Roswell, GA 30076 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
