You42 Studios is a creator-driven entertainment campus in Roswell, GA featuring 18 themed content studios, podcast rooms, production spaces, a 300-person theater, restaurants, and event venues. We are building a space where creators, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, and storytellers can bring bold ideas to life.

We are seeking a Video Production Technician Intern who understands the technical side of production. This paid internship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience supporting working creators in a dynamic studio environment.

Position Overview

The Video Production Technician Intern will support You42 Studios members during pre-production and filming. This role is ideal for a film school student or recent graduate who has foundational knowledge of lighting, audio, and camera systems and wants real-world production experience across multiple content formats (podcasts, short-form social content, branded shoots, interviews, live events, etc.).

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you will help creators feel confident and supported while maintaining professional production standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesStudio & Production Support

• Assist members with studio setup (cameras, lighting, microphones, teleprompters)
• Set up and break down lighting packages (LED panels, softboxes, RGB fixtures, etc.)
• Configure and test audio systems (lav mics, boom mics, podcast setups, audio interfaces)
• Support multi-camera productions and live switching when applicable
• Monitor sound levels and lighting consistency during recording

Pre-Production Assistance

• Help creators prep for shoots (camera placement, framing, lighting design)
• Perform equipment checks and troubleshoot basic technical issues
• Ensure memory cards, batteries, and storage are properly managed
• Support simple set adjustments and aesthetic enhancements

Equipment & Studio Maintenance

• Maintain organization of gear, cables, and storage
• Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment
• Assist with routine equipment inventory and maintenance
• Ensure studios are reset to standard configurations after bookings

Member Experience

• Provide calm, professional support to creators of varying experience levels
• Help first-time users feel comfortable with equipment
• Represent You42 Studios as a knowledgeable and approachable production resource

QualificationsRequired:

• Currently enrolled in a University film school or similar major OR recently graduated (within 1 year)
• Working knowledge of:
• DSLR/Mirrorless cameras
• Basic lighting techniques (3-point lighting, key/fill/backlight)
• Audio setup for video and podcasting
• Familiarity with production workflows and set etiquette
• Strong troubleshooting instincts
• Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 40 lbs)
• Availability for some evenings or weekends

Preferred:

• Experience with Blackmagic, Sony, or Canon cinema cameras
• Knowledge of OBS, live streaming setups, or ATEM switchers
• Basic editing knowledge (Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve)
• Experience on short films, branded shoots, or live productions
