Why you’ll love this position: The State of Missouri, Department of Mental Health at Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center is looking for positive, energetic, and caring Security Support Care Assistants to provide services as part of one of our innovative nursing service teams to mentally ill forensic clients in a high security setting. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate compassion and an ability to work in a trauma informed and recovery based environment. Responsibilities - What you’ll do

This is a second-level direct care position in the care, treatment, and/or security of forensic psychiatric and/or sex offender clients in maximum and intermediate security areas. May function as a lead worker. Accountable for assisting clients with activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, bed making, shaving, dressing, and other related tasks. Assists in checking vital signs, height, and weight as assigned; collects and maintains records of fluid intake and output; reports on the condition of clients; and participates in rehabilitation, ambulation, and transfers. May be accountable for preparing, administering, and charting medication under the direction of a professional nurse, as a Certified Medication Technician. May perform some security-related functions in a mental health care setting. May be responsible for medication distribution.

Qualifications - All you need for success Minimum Qualifications:

• MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE CMT LICENSE

• In addition to those identified in the previous level: Knowledge of elementary behavior modification techniques, medical terminology, and drug classifications. Ability to prepare and maintain records, charts, and reports.

  1-2 years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
