06_BIM Engineer -MEP

Position Summary

iTech Engineering Consultancy is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented BIM Engineer – MEP (Electrical & Mechanical) to join its Digital Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and coordinating BIM models for Mechanical, Electrical, and related building services systems across a variety of building and infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in Revit MEP, BIM workflows, and multidisciplinary project delivery, with a strong understanding of both Mechanical and Electrical systems. The role focuses on BIM production, model development, and supporting project coordination activities under the guidance of Senior BIM Engineers and BIM Coordinators.

Key Responsibilities

BIM Modeling & Project Delivery

• Develop and maintain BIM models for Mechanical and Electrical building services systems.
• Produce BIM deliverables including plans, sections, elevations, schedules, coordinated layouts, and quantity take-offs.
• Model and coordinate MEP systems including:
  • HVAC Systems
  • Ventilation Systems
  • Chilled Water Systems
  • Mechanical Equipment and Plant Rooms
  • Power Distribution Systems
  • Lighting Systems
  • Small Power Systems
  • Fire Alarm Systems
  • ELV Systems
  • ICT and Structured Cabling Systems
• Ensure BIM models comply with project requirements, company standards, and client BIM protocols.
• Support project teams during design development, coordination, and construction documentation stages.

Model Development & Documentation

• Create and update BIM models based on design information, engineering requirements, and project specifications.
• Generate construction documentation directly from BIM models.
• Prepare schedules, quantities, and reports as required by project teams.
• Maintain model accuracy, consistency, and compliance throughout project delivery.

Coordination Support

• Coordinate Mechanical and Electrical BIM models with Architectural, Structural, Civil, Plumbing, and other disciplines.
• Participate in model reviews and coordination meetings.
• Assist in identifying and resolving clashes and coordination issues.
• Support Senior BIM Engineers and BIM Coordinators during multidisciplinary coordination activities.

Quality Assurance

• Perform self-checks and model reviews before submissions.
• Ensure compliance with BIM Execution Plans (BEP), company BIM standards, naming conventions, and Level of Development (LOD) requirements.
• Report technical issues and contribute to solutions that improve model quality and efficiency.
• Maintain proper file management and documentation practices.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the development of BIM templates, libraries, and standards.
• Stay updated with BIM technologies, software enhancements, and industry best practices.
• Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives within the BIM team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2–5 years of BIM experience in MEP projects.
• Experience working on commercial, residential, mixed-use, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, aviation, or infrastructure projects.
• UAE/GCC project experience is preferred.
• Understanding of Mechanical and Electrical building services systems.
