Job Overview

The Raw Materials Procurement Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the procurement process of raw materials required for production or manufacturing. They ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials while maintaining quality standards and building relationships with suppliers.

 Main Responsibilities And KPI’s

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials based on production requirements and cost considerations.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine raw material specifications and quality standards.
  • Plan and forecast raw material need to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, reliability, and pricing.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms of delivery.
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct periodic evaluations.
  • Coordinate and oversee the procurement process, including issuing purchase orders and tracking deliveries.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • Analyze procurement data, such as costs, lead times, and supplier performance, to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare reports and present findings to management, highlighting key metrics and recommendations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in chemical engineering (preferred) or supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in procurement (e.g., CIPP) (preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in raw materials procurement and supplier management.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement practices, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
  • Familiarity with raw materials used in the specific industry or sector.
  • Experience in analyzing data and making data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
  • Good knowledge of using SAP & Microsoft office apps.
