Procurement Officer

Ad Dammam, Saudi Arabia

Designation: Purchaser (Marine Offshore)

Location: Site-based, Dammam, Saudi Arabia

Nationality: Any

Experience: 2+ Years of Marine offshore procurement in Saudi Arabia (Mandatory)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle end-to-end procurement activities for offshore vessels including sourcing, negotiation, purchase order creation, and delivery coordination.
  • Liaise with vessel superintendents, technical teams, and onboard vessel crew to understand and fulfill purchase requirements & technical clarifications.
  • Source reliable marine suppliers and service providers with ARAMCO/Class approvals for equipment, spares, and services.
  • Review and analyze requisitions, quotations, and technical specifications to ensure compliance and accuracy as per requirement.
  • Negotiate best pricing, delivery terms, and payment conditions with vendor.
  • Track and maintain records of procurement orders, supplier performance, and cost savings.
  • Ensure all purchases are in line with budget, quality standards, and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure proper documentation (e.g., invoices, delivery notes, MSDS, test certificates).
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment planning for critical items.
  • Coordinate with logistics and freight forwarders for documentation, customs clearance, and local transportation.
  • Resolve any discrepancies in quantity, damage, or documentation between suppliers, warehouse, and end users.
  • Track and manage the schedule for annual servicing of key equipment and onboard systems.
  • Ensure all statutory and class-required certificates (e.g., lifeboat, fire-fighting equipment, gas detection systems) are renewed on time without lapses.
  • Support in audits, reporting, and supplier evaluations.

Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in marine offshore procurement in Saudi Arabia (Mandatory)
  • Strong knowledge of marine equipment, spare parts, and vendor networks in Saudi Arabia.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
