About the student

  • 11th grade student
  • The student needs to work with a tutor for support for her Algebra 2 and Chemistry classes.
  • The student is an 11th grader attending Bethlehem High School. She is really struggling in both classes. She went from a GPA of 94% to barely passing. She has tried to study and figure things out on her own but she has not been successful. Dad said that the student needs an in person tutor who can meet with her one-on-one and explain the concepts to her. She wants to meet at the library because she feels she can "lock in" there.
  • For Algebra 2, understanding the baseline of factoring is her biggest issue. She had a math teacher last year who was absent for a long time frame so the student had a lot of substitute teachers. Because there was so much turnover and no consistent instruction, Isabella feels like she never really learned about factoring and that is hindering her ability to progress now.
  • For Chemistry, the student is currently struggling the most with mole conversions.
  • The goal is for the student to work with a tutor who can help her get caught up in class and to a point where she understands the concepts so she can raise her grades and pass the classes.
  • The family is asking for 1 hour sessions once a week, between 4pm-8pm, on either Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
  • The family is seeking a tutor who can meet at the Bethlehem Public Library at 451 Delaware Ave in Delmar.
