- Safely perform high-level, repetitive welding work to quality standards.
- Perform various welding tasks as assigned in the building of our product.
- Tasks may vary by work area, and assignments may change based on business demands.
- Train, certify, and recertify associates as welders using Trane’s Welding Excellence Program.
- Remain certified through the Trane Train the Trainer Program.
- Facilitate establishment and implementation of the Trane Welding Center of Excellence Training and Certification Program.
- Assist in establishing and driving compliance of policies and procedures applicable to welding operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact regarding welding operations.
- Plan, organize, and control all welding training and certification activities.
- Aid Quality Engineers or work individually to resolve welding quality issues from problem definition through implementation.
- Collect and analyze data for the purpose of eliminating welding quality issues and improving internal processes and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and implement welding audit procedures for all operations.
- Aid in the development of control plans as they pertain to welding activities.
- Serve as the primary trainer and subject matter expert (SME) for all production personnel in welding.
- Flexible to cover all shifts as needed.
- Continually update training and certification material to remain current with “Best Practices.”
- Must be a certified welder in all applicable weld qualifications for the plant.
- Experience: 3-5 years minimum production welding experience required.
- HVAC systems experience and understanding, or EPA 208 trained, preferred.
- Understanding of welding technique and certification standards.
- Thorough knowledge of weld alloys and usage criteria.
- Training center layout and set-up experience.
- Conduct and track all training, certification, and recertification activities in welding.
- Make recommendations for operator certification or de-certification.
- Conduct daily welding audits.
- Flexibility to work different shifts as required for training and certification purposes.
- Ability to attend formalized training and certification classes as required.
