2026 Undergraduate Summer Internship - Venture Capital

The platform advises the Nclude Innovation Fund, a $110 million FinTech-focused fund and the largest of its kind in Africa. With a strong regional presence, DPI Venture Capital has representation in Cairo, Egypt and Lagos, Nigeria in addition to leveraging DPI's global network. We are now launching our inaugural Summer Internship Programme. The internship is a unique opportunity to learn how a VC fund operates from the inside, from deal sourcing and due diligence to portfolio management and fund operations.

Tasks

As an Undergraduate Summer Intern, you will join the DPI Venture Capital team and work alongside our investment and platform professionals, gaining first-hand exposure to how a venture capital fund operates. The programme begins with an intensive two-week training bootcamp designed to bring you up to speed on core VC concepts, including valuations, cap tables, business model analysis, due diligence, investment memo writing, fund operations, LP relations, IESG, and professional ethics. These sessions are delivered by internal team members and external experts. After the bootcamp, you will put your training into practice by supporting the team on market research, competitive landscape analysis, data gathering, portfolio monitoring, and operational projects. You will also attend weekly expert guest speaker sessions featuring FinTech founders, industry leaders, and technology specialists. This programme is designed for curious, driven students who want to explore venture capital as a career path and build practical, real-world skills in an investment environment.

  • Support the investment team with market research, data collection, and competitive landscape analysis across FinTech sub-sectors
  • Help maintain deal flow trackers, CRM databases, and internal knowledge repositories
  • Assist in preparing investment memos, meeting notes, and presentation materials for the team
  • Contribute to portfolio company monitoring by gathering KPIs, news updates, and performance data
  • Support fund operations and platform tasks including LP reporting preparation, event coordination, and process improvement projects
  • Participate in a structured training programme covering VC fundamentals, FinTech landscape, investment analysis, and professional development
  • Attend team meetings, deal reviews, and expert guest speaker sessions to build your understanding of the VC ecosystem
Requirements

Candidate Profile:
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree programme (penultimate or final year preferred) in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated interest in venture capital, startups, technology, or financial services through coursework, student organisations, personal projects, or relevant extracurriculars
  • Strong analytical mindset with solid Excel / spreadsheet skills and comfort working with data
  • Genuine curiosity about venture capital, FinTech, and technology-driven innovation, particularly in the Middle East & Africa
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, small-team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to present ideas clearly
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid/remote environment using Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Excel)
