2D/3D Draftsman

EGEC Qatar is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled 2D/3D Draftsman to join its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) division. The successful candidate will support the design and engineering teams by producing high-quality technical drawings, BIM models, and coordinated project deliverables across all project phases, from pre-concept development through construction and final handover.

The role requires strong expertise in drafting standards, multidisciplinary coordination, BIM workflows, and digital project documentation within complex construction and consultancy environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Drawing Production
• Prepare detailed 2D drawings including plans, elevations, sections, details, shop drawings, and as-built documentation using AutoCAD and related drafting software.
• Develop accurate 3D models and visualizations using Revit, SketchUp, or equivalent BIM/modeling tools.
• Ensure full coordination between architectural, structural, MEP, civil, and landscape disciplines within all drawing packages and models.

Design Support & Coordination

• Support the Senior Architect, Design Manager, and engineering disciplines in translating design concepts into coordinated construction drawings and technical deliverables.
• Assist in preparing pre-concept layouts, master plans, presentation drawings, and graphical materials for client presentations and stakeholder reviews.
• Coordinate revisions and updates to drawings in line with project requirements and consultant feedback.

BIM & Digital Deliverables

• Develop, update, and maintain BIM models in accordance with the approved BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and project standards.
• Export and manage digital drawing files in various formats including PDF, DWG, IFC, and other required submission formats.
• Support clash detection processes and model coordination activities where applicable.

Quality Control & Compliance

• Review all drawings and models to ensure compliance with project specifications, drafting standards, and applicable Qatar regulations and codes.
• Assist in reviewing contractor shop drawings, material submittals, and as-built documents against approved IFC drawings and project requirements.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of all technical deliverables prior to submission.

Document Control & Record Management

• Maintain organized drawing registers and revision logs for all project documentation.
• Coordinate with the Document Controller to ensure timely upload, tracking, distribution, and archiving of project deliverables.
• Support the preparation and compilation of final as-built drawing packages during project close-out and handover.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Drafting Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in drafting, BIM modeling, and technical documentation within consultancy or construction environments.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other relevant drafting/BIM software.
• Solid understanding of multidisciplinary coordination and construction documentation standards.
• Familiarity with Qatar/GCC standards and project delivery procedures is highly preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work within fast-paced project environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on large-scale mixed-use, commercial, hospitality, or infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of BIM coordination workflows and clash detection tools such as Navisworks is an advantage.
• GCC experience within PMC or multidisciplinary consultancy environments is preferred.
