Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement dynamic lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for 2nd grade students, covering literacy, math, science, social studies, and arts.
  • Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
  • Incorporate learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and understanding.
  • Support early childhood development by tailoring instruction to meet individual learning needs, including working with students with autism or special education requirements.
  • Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools and provide regular feedback on student progress; adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum development initiatives and participate in school-wide activities such as library services and extracurricular programs.
  • Mentor new teachers or teaching assistants, sharing best practices in classroom management, lesson planning, and literacy education.

Qualifications

  • Proven classroom experience working with children in early childhood or elementary education settings.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early intervention strategies, and behavior management techniques.
  • Demonstrated skills in lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and working with students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with learning technology tools and educational software; experience with standardized testing procedures preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging students, parents, colleagues, and administrators effectively.
  • Degree or experience in early childhood education or elementary teaching; private school experience is a plus.
