2nd Grade Teacher for Islamic School

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary School Teacher to foster a positive learning environment for young students. The ideal candidate will develop engaging lesson plans, utilize innovative learning technology, and support students' academic, social, and spiritual development. This role involves collaborating with colleagues, mentoring students, and implementing effective classroom management strategies to ensure each child's success. Experience in early childhood education, special education, and working with children with diverse needs is highly valued. The teacher will play a vital role in nurturing curiosity, literacy, math skills, and social-emotional growth within a supportive classroom setting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy education, math, and science.
  • Utilize learning technology and educational resources to enhance student engagement and understanding.
  • Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques, creating a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and ongoing observations; adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Provide individualized tutoring and support for students requiring additional help or special education services.
  • Incorporate teaching physical education and library services to promote well-rounded development.
  • Mentor students to foster social skills, confidence, and independence; serve as a positive role model.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, school activities, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; teaching certification is a plus
  • Proven classroom experience with elementary-aged children; experience in private schools
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, literacy education, math instruction, and classroom management techniques.
  • Skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, proofreading, and integrating learning technology effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with children in various settings including early childhood education environments.
  • Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and assessment tools.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 36 per week
