Pratt & Whitney’s North Berwick Aero Systems organization has an exciting leadership opportunity for a Sr. Manager, 2nd shift Operations. In this role, you will lead all aspects of the onsite 2nd shift operation in North Berwick (Parts Center, Modular Assembly, and Aftermarket Operations). You will provide direction and guidance to the 2nd shift team who are responsible for executing the production plans on 2nd shift.

What you will do:

The 2nd shift Operations Manager is responsible for driving performance in all success areas: Environmental, Health & Safety, quality, delivery, cost, and cultivating employee engagement. You will continue to build and develop a team that is responsive and flexible, empowering employees from cell leaders to operators. Understanding and meeting customer expectations is a strength you'll need in this role. You will be responsible for manufacturing standard work on your shift, managing critical part plans to completion, and critical resource allocation to ensure that business metrics are met. Excellent organization, prioritization, and interpersonal skills are important.   • Drive World-class safety culture is maintained and respond to all EH&S requirements promptly
  • Execution to manufacturing standard work (MSW) on your shift
  • Coaching and mentoring both hourly and salary employees
  • Conduct live Tier walks at shift changeover for all businesses.
  • Develop, track and close action items to eliminate production road blocks
  • Control quality, productivity and process flow to meet MRP requirements while ensuring a high level of customer happiness
  • Address issues and engage the workforce in achieving cell goals
  • Hold employees accountable while maintaining a key working relationship
  • Ownership of 2nd shift performance for the Site.
  • Travel requirements less than 5%

Qualifications you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 10 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree with 7 years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Manufacturing, Project, or Program management experience preferred.
  • CORE and Lean experience in a manufacturing environment
  • MRP/SAP experience

This role is:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
