- Create high-quality 3D models of characters, environments, props, or objects based on concept art, sketches, or references.
- Ensure models are optimized for their intended use (games, animation, AR/VR, films, etc.).
- Maintain proper topology, edge flow, and polygon count for performance and visual fidelity.
- Apply textures, materials, and shaders to models to achieve realistic or stylized appearances.
- Work with UV mapping and texture baking techniques.
- Collaborate with texture artists to ensure consistency with project requirements.
- Work closely with concept artists, animators, riggers, and technical artists to ensure models meet the project’s technical and artistic requirements.
- Incorporate feedback from supervisors and team leads to refine models.
- Prepare models for animation by ensuring proper joint placement and deformation readiness.
- Adjust models according to animator feedback for correct movement and expression.
- Conduct self-review to ensure models meet the project’s quality standards.
- Optimize models for real-time rendering, VR/AR, or cinematic use.
- Maintain organized files, naming conventions, and version control.
- Document modeling techniques, materials, and asset specifications for team use.
- Stay updated with the latest 3D modeling tools, software, and techniques.
- Experiment with new workflows to improve efficiency and quality.
